That being said I do understand the power of addition (I'm in a twelve step program for my addition to the UPDATE button) as I've watched everyone (well almost everyone) in my family struggle with additions such as smoking, drugs, and alcohol and I fully support anyone who's trying to shake the monkey off their back.

GOOD ON ALL OF YOU FOR GIVING IT A GO and I'll be following this thread as always and I hope to see how your doing with your successful attempts at kicking your habbits. You guys can do it I know you can :)

All the best to you and yours.

MAX!

So, is that like an addition to your home? And is a habbit a habit forming rabbit?

Wow what a cool place it smells like new paint. On a personal note I'm on my second week of not smoking which is good for me seeing how I smoked for 41 years. I haven't eaten us out of house and home either which is a good thing. Still suck at taking pictures hopefully maybe that will change one can hope :)

You go, girl!! How did you do it? (I need to do this too!)

Me too!

Maybe we need to form a support group.

Jeb is right you have to want to quit and stick with it. I needed the help of Chantix. I know people that have not smoked in years and years and take it back up, I hope I will not be like that. Time will tell. I'm getting through this one day at a time that's all I can do. It has not been easy as I'm also dealing with putting my mom in a Care Center and her not wanting to go but she has Dementia and can no longer stay by herself. So I figure if I can get through this stressfull time without smoking then I have it made.

Edward, I know the feeling as far as unemployment, laid off concrete finisher. Keep in mind you can earn 1/3erd of your unemployment benefits before it effects them, in my case I can do a side job here and there as long as its less then $140 I̢۪m OK, I also am the call guy when someone doesn̢۪t show at the convenience store down the road. Do what you need to do, and as far as the construction field is concerned with interest rates at 4 1/4% I doubt it will be too long and we will be back and running..

:)

My humble (okay, seriously humble) offering. . . .

Karmic Kommenting

"What goes around comes around,"
My granny used to say,
"Whatever you think you want to get
Be sure to give away."

Years later, when I'm grown and "old,"
I remember that sage advice
When I find a website called dpc
And I consciously play nice.

I give an 8, a nice critique
And am shocked to see
In return for my time well spent,
Some troll just gave me a 3!

I gripe, I stew, I complain
But then I rationalize
Of course they didn't understand me
I'm an artist in disguise!

I comment still, and try to spread
My opinions far and near
But still I notice a deficit
On the pictures I hold dear

Still I vote, and leave a thought
On the pictures that I see
And someday, somewhere, I know for sure
It will all come back to me.

For people see, and they hear
And then they become
That which they are exposed to
In part and in sum.

For in this world in which we live,
It only does make sense,
That we will eventually receive ,
Whatever it is we give.

If we live that long.

Nicely done, nicely done indeed. I think it shares the spirit of suck...
02/17/2009 02:01:48 PM · #58
Though poetry in suckville should, IMO, use the word "sucketh," but what do I know?

But since you sucked at doing that, you indeed met the sucking expectations (which I tend to suck at these days).

In the end, we all suck if we try.

Beautifully done Karma....

(Deb is snapping her fingers, which is hard to convey in type, but which she also somehow feels is the appropriate response.)

Very well done, Karma!

Boy, I'm glad I didn't have to write a poem. I hate writing.

posthumous told him a long time ago that he had to write comments on Free Study entries that would make you laugh, cry, wonder, and feel deeply......8>)

I was being sarcastic ;D

I got in by virtue of already working hard with my Free Study Comment Experiment comments, mixed with the fact that I suck on a regular basis.

karmat needs a team.

She seems like a hoover?
02/18/2009 07:25:39 AM · #73
Lovely poem, Karma! *snapping fingers in apreciation* And yes she does seem sucky enough for Hoover :-) Or should we start a whole new time for SC members who join our ranks?

It amuses me to see that I captured an image that I really like of a type that I swore to myself that I neither liked nor understood.

I managed to grab the engine cleanly as I panned the train moving out onto the bridge.

I really like the way the bridge, wires, and towers all have that pulled blur from moving across them.

Maybe I'll learn something yet from hanging around you guys!.......8>)
