Wandering through checking out challenges and stuff, and Ernie, dear, remind me why you joined Team Suck? The stats for your last ten challenges show two ribbons, two stars, and 7 of those 10 in the 90+ percentile. That's pretty darn impressive! That Matt person has a nice run of 6s in his last 10, too, but had the decency to throw a 4 in once.
Mostly, though, I was trying to find the thread where you bash the non-real-wildlife shooters so I could rib you about the shot-through-the-glass wolves. :-) |
I have to remember my roots Deb, it can probably be expected again with best of your life, aka hidden gem.

I have heard with CS3 one can open a JPEG in camera raw, might someone with this knowledge explain how? Thank You. |
i open the jpegs in bridge and right click on the photo and there's an option for opening in raw called "open in camera raw". ill go check how to do it right in cs3
nah i dont know how to do it in cs3. i have only worked with bridge when converting stuff to jpeg or working with jpegs in raw. im actually doing just that right now:)

Happy Birthday, Jelena! Somehow I've got to wonder about the candles on a cake for a fire-spinner.... will there be pictures??
And Alan - if you have CS3, you have Bridge. At least I think you should! I've not tried opening a jpeg as a RAW file, though, so I can't help there. When you open CS3, go to File, Browse, and Bridge should pop up. |

And hey, what's this that I hear about basssman7 complaining about doing poorly now after not one but 2 red ribbons?! Shouldn't there be a penalty for such extreme lack of sucktitude?

Peter and I have a week's leave next week. We are going to stay in Alnmouth on the Northumberland coast for three nights - I am sooooo excited! The Northumberland coastline is really pretty, and very quiet at this time of the year as it will be darned cold, but it will be such good fun - wonderful scenery, and at least three proper big ruined castles within a fifteen mile radius.
Did I mention I was looking forward to Monday? ;¬P |

Well......I'll be around some today, but I'm getting my ducks in a row, already 95% packed, and am headed out at 3:15 A.M. for my church mission trip to Honduras.
I'm viewing it as week of hard work, quiet reflection, R&R, a chance to really establish in my own life how fortunate I am relative to the poverty in a small mountain village in Latin America, and possibly re-emerge into civilization a better person.
I hope my camera doesn't quit......I've been having all sorts of problems with the cards and images getting corrupted, but it will be what it will be.....I'll either have a sh*tload of images, or not.
I won't have a watch, a phone, a computer, or anything remotely attached to the modern world for eight days and I cannot begin to tell you how much that whole idea appeals to me.
I'm taking an fresh journal notebook, and a Bible......that's it.....so if I don't have the tenacity to be able to connect with the most oft-translated, controversial and abused publication on the planet, or to be able to write, I'll just be alone with my camera and my thoughts.
It should be interesting.......8>)

What part of Honduras are you going to? I've been on three or four trips there -- usually in the La Ceiba area, and once in an area just outside of La Ceiba. I can remember what it was called, but it translated "War Zone." |

That sounds like it will be ana amazing experience Jeb - I do hope your camera lasts out, as I look forward to seeing the photos. I suspect you will have a rather warmer week than me! |

Copan Ruinas is where I'm staying, but where I'll be is in the little village of Nuevo San Isidro.
It's up in the NW corner of the country near the Guatemalan border.....Google Map
Plug in Copan, Honduras and it'll get you close.
It seems to be east of La Ceiba.
Funny aside?
Our daughter, Eleanor pwncakesauce, was conceived in a hotel in Cozumel called La Ceiba!

Have a wonderful, safe trip!
(I think the other place I was was called Sonaguerra, but I know that is not how it was spelled. We were there the spring after Hurricane Mitch destroyed parts of Honduras in the fall) |

Jeb have a safe trip. Take lots of photos so that I can live vicariously through you. Update on smoking it has been 26 days and still smoke free. Got my mom settled into the care center she is still mad at me but coming around. I have no cool pictures for any of the challenges. Hopefully maybe I can go out this weekend and take some. |

Figured it out, open the photo in bridge, right click, and the option to open in camera raw is presented. And yes it works fantastically. Thanks all.

There's a wolf preserve in NW NJ. You'll see more compelling evidence of it soon enough. |
