karmat has been added to Team Hoovers. I haven't fixed the image linking in the team scores script yet, and offer no promises on it being done in time for tomorrow's results. I should be able to fix it later this week though.

3 out of 4 commenters love my entry. The forth, not so much. I'm a little disappointed the score is so low. I expected at lease a point better.

Haven't checked in in a while, life has gotten crazy busy again, mostly homework sucking the life out of me and our son still not sleeping through the night...

Back to reality after my Begin entry and I think I'm back after my relapse of sucking...

(I suck at English if relapse wasn't the right word)

So, I had a two-part dream last night that is just too bizarre not to share.

It started with my turning on my cell phone, only to be shocked to see that it was no longer running under my usual carrier, but instead was booting up under the name "Phoenix", and when I tried to call out, I kept getting a service that insisted I needed to start getting permission to call anyone, and that it involved crazy background checks and such. In a panic, I hung up and got online to find out what was happening, only to find that the internet was also completely taken over by this Phoenix company. They had blocked all IRC and similar chat networks, and they had restricted all blogs and social networking sites. You could access some, but were restricted to 20 characters per post, which were then reviewed for content before being allowed to be posted. (I don't remember specifics on content in the dream of course). Apparently, this Phoenix company had taken over ALL worldwide communications completely.

This kind of thing went on for awhile, with the world slowly falling into chaos, when I decided I was hungry and went to my fridge to get something to eat. That was when part 2 of the dream kicked in, and I found that my fridge was now a 2-way dimensional portal that connected with my sister's fridge. Anything she put into her fridge, I could take out of mine, and vice versa. However, given the state of the world and the sudden realization that we were being taken over by a Big Brother uber-corporation, this awesome revelation soon turned to jealous and anger as we kept fighting over who was using more food than the other, and then I lost it and kept taking all of the food and put it in a different fridge out of spite. Unfortunately, I woke up before either scenario was resolved in any way.

CRAZY!

So yah. I might make an appointment with a psychologist now. lol.

You need to eat something before going to bed.

But I probably wouldn't hook up my refrigerator to the internet anytime soon.

I think the problem was that I ate too much before I went to bed.

I think the problem was that I ate too much before I went to bed.

This would give me nightmares.

I believe that's what we call grist - in this case, to the Phoenix Psychology mill.

Just out of curiosity, did you eat something heavily garlic-laden?

I get really weird dreams if I pile on the garlic too heavily.

Just for perspective of what that really means, I *DO* consider garlic to be a food group.....8>)

No, no garlic. Peanuts, and Wendy's.

I've been MIA for a few days again, but this time for a good reason.

I took a quite intense 3-day course, leaving it a newly certified Child Restraint System Technician !!
No, it's nothing to do with a new job, nor will ever amount to one, but it is something I have wanted to do for a few years.

Here is an article in the Toronto Star about the specific course I was in - the reporters were there during our lunch break.

LOL that would probably do it!

My dreams often take place in distorted settings...like dreams involving an apartment building, it's an absolute behemoth of a building about a million storeys tall...the movie theatre would dwarf the Kodak Theatre...creepy outsized stuff like that. And don't even get me on the people(?!) I find in these places!

Got an entry in both Calendar, which is sucking, and an entry in Puzzled, which is bound to suck. I do have a pretty non-sucky pic I'd like to enter for Free Study, though.

No entries for me, I think, until the Free Study starts. Until Spring really hits here, I'm pretty much just photographically shut-down. No desire, no interest, so kudos to everyone still trying!

Despite the fact that I most definitely KNOW BETTER, I have entered a challenge. It will puzzle the voters, but not in a good way, nor enough to consider it worthy of the challenge, I'm quite sure. It will not warrant more than the cursory three from Paul, nor will our Fearless Leader be amused. But hey, I entered it anyway.
02/24/2009 05:18:20 PM · #124
I, too, have entered a challenge (puzzle). If this runs to form I shall have 20 challenges on the bounce without breaking 5.
02/24/2009 05:58:15 PM · #125
Well, I had to enter one of the challenges, DPCO IV and all, but I'm fairly sure it'll be in the 4s.

My Tilted entry seems like it'll finish up 6.1-ish.

I'm happy about that.

I'm getting ready to go to Honduras on the 7th......I'm actually nervous.
