Hey everyone,
Thought it might be fun to post which of your entries was your favorite, how it scored, and comments about the idea behind the shot.
I'll start us out:
This one was actually my second entry here. I was quite surprised, it only scored a 5.7479. Still to date is probably one of my favorite shots overall, and quite possibly my favorite entry to date. I messed around with different setups for the pencils before getting this one and this one turned out to be my favorite. They are actually held in a toilet paper roll at the bottom, works very well if you have the right number. Very fun shoot and probably my favorite entry.
Thanks,
Ryan

Nice idea!
Being biased I have many 'favourites' but think this shot is my best both technically and artistically. If it was for a self portrait challenge I think it would have ribboned :)

This still makes me laugh. However, fixing the sink wasn't all that comical.
I didn't even need to bribe my little guy to stick his head under there with me. He was at my elbow the whole time!
I tried for a cartoon style processing and I think it was well received. Score really didn't matter, it was just a real capture of life in the Peters' house. He's almost 4 now...
Andi- No doubt yours would have ribboned in a SP challenge. I think it is one of the greatest self-punishment shots on DPC. :) |

Both great shots, I love how Andi isn't afraid to hurt himself for a photo, lol, especially with all of his fire shots.
Mark, love the editing on yours, very nicely done.

This shot came out exactly as I saw it in my head - hence a favorite of mine. And it contains my favorite person...

This didn't score very well, but I really liked it.

I'm kind of new, so I don't have a lot of challenge entries to choose from, but not only is this my favorite entry so far, it's also my favorite photo I've taken within the last year or so.
Partly because it was so unlooked for, but also because I like the energy that is existent in both the B&W and the color versions (which I included on my write-up in the photographer's comments). It's just one of those times when everything came together at the right time.
No, it didn't score well, but that's secondary really. I'm extremely happy with this shot and glad that I got to share it. |

This one, but unfortunately not many found the humor in it. ;) |

I would have to say I have many favorites, but this one stands out due to the fact it was my first, and only ribbon so far.
I am also amazed at the number of comments and favorites it received.....
Favorites: 25
My favorite image that touched my heart emotionally, would have to be this one.....
Just read the story that I have attached to the image, and you will see why it moves me to tears every time I look at it.

It's hard to pick one, when there are different "types" of shots.
My personal favorite landscape is still
Bass Harbor Light
If I picked my favorite Abstract, though, it would definitely be:
"Whirlwind Passion"
I had that printed as a gallery wrap canvas, and it looks great. I've got a big one of Bass Harbor Light framed in our dining room, but I'm going to try that on Canvas too.
And Bass Harbor Light did well with the voters, getting Avg (all users) of 7.6732 and a Red Ribbon in the Best of 2005 challenge.
Whirlwind Passion only got a 5.5 and was 82 out of 313 in the Complementary Colors challenge. |

this is my favorite just because I had fun in the pond in hipwaiters (I mean hip waders) taking it...it got mid 4's but that is my usual and I'm sure I caught hell for using a peep and not a duck..........
I probably should have submitted my second favorite which I had titled
"how's the view down there cuz it is might fine up here"

Yup, I remember this and gave it a 7 :)
Got a shot of a Giraffe drinking its mates wee at the weekend and another of him pursing his lips as he did the wine buff tasting, almost went into the overexposed challenge ;) |

I like the serenity of the picture, but in real life it was anything but serene. Those birds were noisy and at times they were only about 30 feet above bergiekat and I. I was also spending time with a DPCr which was fun. Something else that made me happy was the challenge was advanced editing and I only used basic. I have got to this printed sometime! |

Taken for the "games" challenge. I wanted a play on the "dog's playing poker" painting. I never would have taken this picture if it weren't for DPC and it is one that has been printed and entered into other contests (got a first place recently with it). Everyone who sees it just loves it. |

This has been my favorite for a very long time. I love the sheer joy in the young girls dance with no thought to the weather. |

My first idea for the match challenge was something blowing up, but since I didn't want the something to be me, I used this idea. To answer your question, yes I do watch too many cartoons.
Why is this my favorite? This was the first shot that I did for a challenge that came out exactly the way I wanted it. Plus, its my only shot that shows up on the highest rated for a lens, although its slowly getting pushed down.(10-17 Fisheye)

Not sure about this being my favourite, but I like it alright.
I'm ok with the score, but then I'm ok with any score.
I felt the comments regarding the inclusion of a power pole were amusing. The commenters appear to have been looking for an idyll. I'm interested in the way the things are.
Some commenters considered only the objects depicted the subject of the photo. The subject, however, is the light.
The image is the object, in my view.

... one of my faves ... not sure if it's my *all time fave* or not though. Fun to shoot nonetheless ... I was the model ... set up the whole thing and had my boyfriend press the shutter ... really had to work myself up to get the authentic scared reaction though ... I was exhausted when it was over ... wish we could do this again because I'd like to take the suggestions of the voters and make sure the trunk lights went off ... my PS skills have gotten slightly better since then also ... Langdon, lets do a take 2 on this challenge, please!!! |

This one will always probably be one of my favorites. Love the warm feeling I always get from this home. |
