6.7? pah!
Deserved being on the frontpage for taking the chance and doing something other than the standard closeup of a bird, I guess its not popcorn enough for DPC.
I have left DPC for a few months, but have popped back purely to see where this image finished, 22nd is disgraceful.. Would make a wonderful print, would make you a bit of $$$ as well..
amazing shot, poor placing, glad it was a new PB for you though. |

WOW. Definitely going in my faves folder. Congrats on the new personal best, the faves, and the comments. And look at that commenter average! This shot just resonates with me, much more than my entry (forget the difference in score - this is so much better).
My only suggestion would be to try darkening the blacks a bit. But I'm not sure that would improve it. |

| Let me add my voice to the people who love this shot - it obviously stands out in the challenge, probably the only image from this challenge that I will remember a month from now. But also it is a great image in its own right, regardless of challenge descriptions and so on. The composition is beautiful, with the lines leading me through the image and making me read it in its entirety before finally resting on the lake and trees. The tones and muted contrast is just fantastic, and the grain contributes to the image as well. Congratulations on a very good shot. |

| This has a lovely, quiet atmosphere. Nicely composed, and good sense of depth conveyed, with the zigzags of birds, and the barely perceptible landform in the background. One of my 10s for the challenge. |

| 8 - Wow. What a scene. Grain works well, but wonder about 'smooth', if you had it, but that's a personal preference. The tone/b&w definitely works well. |

| My favorite...I don't think it is DPC friendly, (whatever that is) and you have some stiff competition in this challenge. The grain, the patterns, the flooded trees = great image! |

| Great example of the 'bird in context' type shot in this challange. The black and white treatment adds to the cold and misty look. Definitly needs that number of birds to make the birds the main focal point of the image so kudos for waiting :-) |

Well regardless of all the incredible close ups of birds in the challenge this shot has to be one of my favourites. Fantastic capture and I love that you have both caught so many bird in the shot and the way that they form a what looks like a lazy scrawll acros the sky but which simultaeneously has a pattern and form to it
Great B&W coversion as well, the noise and softness adds wonderfully to the ambience of the picture
