I had a more high key thing in mind, here's my humble attempt to express that.

The river is almost back to normal. We went to the cabin to check things out, we still have a lot of work to do, but at least we can get to it and the ground isn't too muddy.

I know I missed half the month already, but I couldn't resist sharing this one. We've just been overwhelmed with closing the studio and getting all the paperwork on the new one.

Hi All!
It's been a crazy time here in Montana this week. I am on my son's laptop, and don't have much time on line, or many places that I can connect so I can't post much. It's been a good adventure so far. We have been across the mountains by car and helicopter, rafted a river, visited a buffalo range and other side adventures.
As soon as I get back home, it's off to the Fl Keys for a couple of days of the sport lobster diving season with my boating pals. I may not have time to post here again before the end of the month.
My cameras have been getting a serious workout, with only two minor "oops" so far. One was that I left the charger for my little P&S at home, and the other was that I dropped a 18-70 Nikkor ED from my shooting vest into a waterfall. I have been shooting with a 70-300 on one S3 and using my older manual Nikkor lenses on the other. It limits my speed a bit when we are riding, but it has been good to learn more about shooting with the manual lenses while on the run. I have found the 35mm f2 Nikkor to be the most useful. It is wide enough for most things that I see as we are moving, and gives a natural looking POV. The 3 mile hike to hidden lakes in the Many Glacier Nat'l Park has been the highlight of the trip so far. The chopper ride over the mountains and the rafting trip with dinner on the river were almost as exciting. It's hard to compare because each day is so different from the others.
I would post pics but don't know how to edit and resize them with this laptop.
I have to load up for today's adventure now.
See you all later.

This is a small lake in a residential neighborhood near where I live. I drive by here to and from work most days, and in addition sometimes go running by here. Geese are abundant, but there frequently are blue herons and ducks as well.

Day 23 - More Seagulls

I have recently become obsessed with seagulls, usually I think they are annoying scavengers. I think the obsession stems from seagulls being the only birds I have been able to get close enough to in order to take pictures of them. Although my thoughts in the past have not been positive of seagulls, recently the more I look at them the more pretty I find them.
