 We took the slow road home hoping to find something to do and decided to stop at a state park in Muskegon, MI. We knew Muskegon had a lighthouse and you know about us and lighthouses...

We should have known something was up when the girl taking cash was dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt in the middle of July. We paid our 8 bucks and decided to check out the park, figuring it would be trails, beach, etc. The fee was essentially for the beach. The cold beach. There was a strong wind out of the North and we were cold even with jackets on. Trying to make the best out of it we walked around and the girls played a bit and fed the gulls. We stopped on the way back to the car so wickee_one could empty out the 22 pounds of sand that had blown into her shoes.

She asked me to hold her camera. Of course I had to turn it on get some shots of the girls Then Taylor walked right in front of me. This was really a lucky shot to come out mostly in focus (wish it were on near eye) considering she was moving, I was shooting @2.8, and she was only a few feet away. As soon as I saw it I knew I had my shot for the day.

I was going for a high contrast look with the pp.

The hair definitely makes the shot! Love how it's so wildly scattered throughout the frame.

Great shot for a grab shot. I think that the focus is in the right place, as the hair would be soft if it were closer.

Awesome movement and conversion. Hope Taylor likes it. A bit sad how mature she looks here, huh? (they grow up WAY too fast)

Just a gorgeous image!!! What a lovely young lady. I love taking pictures of my kid......I'm biased, but it makes me so proud to show her off.
