argh I voted sun in frame but forgot to finish and pick ribbons. This one would have been blue:

here are some of my other favorites. I had a lot for this challenge, so I'll skip the ones that others have picked.

Thank you very much Kali! Out of 10 challenges entered so far, this was my second lowest score. Unfortunatley I messed with my monitor settings and didn't check to make sure they were correct. I think it would have done better if it actually looked the way I thought it did when I edited it. Lesson learned, and problem corrected!!!!

This has to be one of the best challenges I've seen... there were SO MANY great photos, it was really a pleasure to vote on it... I really wish I had entered it myself!!!

sempermarine i really like word play, and the fact that i could read the title in two ways. the dark tones and blue work against the concept of light so well, accentuating the not only the bar of light on his face, but also the dark emotion of the image. not only does he look like he's crying light (the interpretation i actually didn't get on first viewing) but the jagged edges in the light remind me of sharp teeth, calling up the boy who cried wolf.

Everyone who is a parent should read the words that go with this, beautiful, and such a fitting image!

Hi All,

As a newbe, what is this all about? I surmise these are awards for good excellent work, but who makes the determinations etc? Just curious. I am 100% sure it will be a long time before any are directed at me.

Thanks.

The first post of this thread by DeSousa kinda explains the objective. The Original Awards, the Posthumous Ribbons, are picked by posthumous based on his own personal criteria. The thread then evolved to include awards by others as well - each individual picks their own winners based on their own criteria. Quite often, the shots that appear here weren't appreciated by the masses as well as they are by the individuals, though there are occasions where choices overlap with those that placed in the top ten in voting. Any clearer? :-)
