Just want some comments to help improve with this lens...just went outside to snap a couple pics with the 50mm 1.8 II. Let me know what you think. It's pretty sharp for being so cheap. The noise is my fault...sorry!

But just think of how much you'll use it, and what you'll get out of it, and you'll see it's a very worthwhile investment. (Just trying to share the obsession....)

Thanks Melethia...I've decided that I am going to get a 400D..just will have to wait a bit to recover from the dental bills!!! *UGH*
In the meantime...It will be hit or miss whether I get any decent photos to share.

Thanks Quiet...I ordered B&H catalog and have heard that they are very reputable to deal with. Their kits on a 400D are pretty reasonable also.

If anyone is traveling to the San Francisco Bay Area at the end of this month...the Folsom Street Fair is on Sunday 9/30. Some very "UNIQUE" photo opportunities to be had.

It's funny, and comforting to read the various exasperation, wry chuckling, out and out bitching, and general mayhem going on here at Team Suck in the various challenges. My Free Study is a shot I really like, but it's definitely boring for an expert editing challenge, and especially with a FS as well. Yet.....

My Bokeh?

LOVE the shot, IMO did EVERYTHING right to be DPC Bokeh-friendly, worked REALLY hard to set it up, and......

Don't get me wrong, I'm not unhappy with either score, I was hoping for a 6+ on the Bokeh, and I was just looking for a 5+ out of the Free Study.

Can I give up some of my FS score to the Bokeh????? LOL!!!

Oh.....one funny aside.....my two comments on my Bokeh were both VERY complimentary and they specifically told me they gave me an 8.

Here's the Sam Hall version:

If you really like your picture damn their eyes

I would watch for a price drop on the Canon 30D since a new model, the 40D, has come out.

Well, I woke up to a beautiful day here in Caloundra, Queensland, Australia, after four days of rain and drizzle. I turned on my computer and still disappointed in my scores, except for one of them.

I turned them OFF until rollover. I still like them, so thats what really matters. Peace again reigns in our house once more......

I going out to get some supplies for a shoot today, while I can.
I hope you all enjoy my favorite images above, by our special team suck member Melethia

ephln, have you seen this?

Ok it's very hard to choose one person, because I have many favorites from Team Suck. However, I am going to spotlight skewsme. Every time I see her animal photos, I immediately think of something you might see in a children's book.

actually I think it means she hasn't sold it, and wants to give the notice more attention by bumping it up in the forum list. You can PM the person to inquire.

Shez, thank you kindly, my dear! I'm touched and honored!

Eve, if you can, get to a store that has both the 400 and the 30D. I started with the Rebel and still use it (it's the camera I have with me here) but I do love my 30D. The one thing you may or may not like about the 30D is the weight - it's definitely a heavier machine. But the only way to know is to handle both of them if you can. As someone said, it'll drop in price a lot now that the 40D is out. Which I could get irritated about (you don't wanna know how much I paid for the original Rebel, for instance) but I MORE than get my money's worth out of these toys. :-)

Oh, and get the camera, THEN worry about the dental bills. :-)

Hey, thanks, Barbara (BAMartin)! :)

To think, I've been meaning to clean out my Alps folder, and now you go and tell me you really like 3 of them.
