Hey guys.. dont wanna toot my own horn here but I got word today that I won 1st prize for a yearly contest on www.internationalphotoart.org !!!
They haven't posted my image yet but they will soon :) I think I won a digital camera.... The image I submitted can be viewed here
Correction: I won a cash prize for 1st in the student category

Wow! Many many congratulations!
First place in a yearly competition is quite an acheivement!
You photo, might I say, it superb :)

Considering this morning you said in another thread that...

... and this evening you get "x of the YEAR"!!!

congrats! A good example of that style of photography. Very graphic!
Looks like you won 150GBP rather than a camera - a much better prize!

I don't know, I was thinking of starting whining myself...if you chop off the ascender of he "h" and shuffle a couple letters it's not too far from whining" to "winning" typographically...

Yes I do remember you saying you liked it when I originally posted it for critiquing back in July I think...
I had it printed 11X14 for a school assignment today.... and the girls running the printers expressed an extreme liking for it :) |

| That is a beautiful photograph, I would have liked to see the big smiles today in person. What was the prize you won? I am a bit confused about that. Well, since I only learned today how to adjust levels, maybe I can be forgiven. |

| Thanks for all the kind words guys (and gals!). Tomorrow I'm going to school to tell my professor. Hopefully I can get myself a place in the photography "hall of fame" outside in the display cases :) |
