Look around ModelMayhem (especially in the Atlanta area) and you'll see tons of photos emphasizing the badonkadonk. I think she is weaaring it because to her it IS the norm. |
Then I submit she is mistaken. If it were normal, no one would notice anything unusual and it wouldn't be a subject for discussion.
You don't see people starting mocking forum threads and posting pictures of people wearing khaki shorts and a plaid button-down shirt, now do you?

to start off...I understand that the only way someone would know if this person is in the military is by being told or by looking at the OP's profile (they don't have many non-military American's in South Korea) so it is a little hard to comment on this in itself but knowing it is a member or our armed forces makes it totally different. It might be hard for anyone that has never had any doings with the miltary but this is a big deal and I hope she is or was confronted and corrected.
Actually if in fact she is a military member or even works on the military base, it does affect him in more ways than just seeing it. It is a slap in the face to everyone that follows the rules of good order and discipline. It a LOT of potential to cause problems and again go against the rules of good order and discipline. Need an example?
Someone mentioned about maybe someone cheating on his wife to get with this girl. What if it is one of the OP's junior people that does this and gets caught, first it IS illegal in the Military and can ruin a career, not to mention the man-hours lost due to paperwork and legal proceedings and assigning a replacement should that member be discharged. Then what happens if due to his legal mess he misses work and a mission can't be completed or a pilot can't get his required air time. Sound trival but it really could mean more than just his career in the long run. Second what happens when the spouse back home finds out? Does she deserve that, how about his kids or even parents?
What happens if she's with one guy one night and a new one the next and the first one gets pissed and starts a fight...trust me it happens. Now how many people are out of work due to injury or misconduct hearings? All because she might be a attention addict.
Doesn't matter her build, color, age, religion or even background, that attire is not proper attire for a military member even in civilian cloths. We have standards for a reason and they need to be followed. I am actually surprised that she made it out of her berthing and off the base like that, unless she changed once she left the base, it is people like this that ruin it from everyone else. She should be glad she isn't stationed somewhere where you are required to be in uniform anytime you leave the base...actually people like this are almost always the reason that rule is in place.
Again, if you don't deal with the miltary you may not see the importance of the issue and the OP probably should have orginally mentioned that she is an American Ambassidor to Korea to better help some understand what really is wrong with this image.
eta: It should be noted that we men also have similar guidlines to follow that some may see as stupid or petty (no earrings-period on base or off NONE...here in Oki shirts must be tucked in and other things)
btw BHuseman...gotta love those AFRTS(A-Farts) and FEN (Forced Entertainment Network) commericals huh lol I bet I know more about states and their capitals now than I ever learned (or wanted to learn) in school lol.

You and I are both VERY Caucasian. I have a feeling that some others might think those Khaki shorts and plaid button-down are quite "White and nerdy" :-)

Imagine being able to garner all that information from a photo... very impressive.

Well, I guess I see it as more of a class thing than a race thing, but whatever. I don't think you have to be Caucasian to want to keep your butt covered in public.

I'm definitely very light in the bedonkadonk department...
If I ever lose my job and home and wind up on the corner of some freeway exit, I think I'll put that on my sign.
"Spare some change? No home, no job, no bedonkadonk."

What does it say about the man if he is incapable of following the rules of good order and discipline just because he sees a bit of bedunkdunk?
Why is the onus only on the woman to act accordingly?

In the club scene (which it would appear they are going to, or coming from), what she's wearing is modest. |

a VERY valid point that should have been addressed, it is very much also his responsibility and truth be told, if men didn't react to this attire it wouldn't be worn. |

It's not a racial statement to say that white Americans and black Americans have different cultures and different cultural norms. It's just a fact. That's why we have Rap and R&B and Country and Rock & Roll.
There is becoming more and more cross-over, but the difference do exist.
And like the last post said, in the club scene what she is wearing IS modest.

Is that really an excuse for violating the military's off-base dress code?

What hurts is the fact that it doesn't meet the time requirement for the Backsides challenge...

Yep. That was my first thought when I saw the challenge. :)
Now had it been a self-portrait backside challenge ...

Trust me, that is the first thing I thought. But then I realized even if it did I wouldn't submit it. It doesn't meet the high quality standards that are associated with DPC images! |

I'm not sure what that has to do with the question raised in the thread. According to my friends in the service, the dress codes are only really enforced off-base when it's a non-resident situation. The people I knew who were in SK never really had to adhere to much of a dress code. |

Perhaps Langdon can be persuaded to change the Backsides challenge to the Bedunkdunk challenge.
I'll bet Fotomann will take the Blue. |

Since I'm from the group that believes that bringing sexy back is the biggest reason why women will never be empowered so I don't think I need to express what my opinion is....
Moving on, this is obviously a military dress code issue as well so I'm thinking, if you saw her on the streets, how many people will respect her and not give her any reaction... the military is about discipline and the ability to command respect... Would she be able to do that.. not trying to make any point here.. just wondering.. |
