I think some people have taken this post the wrong way maybe. I see it as a discussion of how people should wear clothes more appropriate to size. I will post what I posted before again:

Even with a body of a model it isn't appropriate IMO. I saw a girl the other day in Taco Bell where I had taken my step son (4 year old), she was tall - skinny as a rail & her shorts were so tight & small...her butt was literally hanging out much like the girl below. It was not cute..............................

Ok, with that I am stating it is not appropriate for anyone of any size to walk out in public with their butt hanging out of their shorts. There are families & children that can see that & shouldn't.

P.S. Great post Chiqui..

I have to agree with June, 100%. "Trashy" describes the look precisely. Makes me want to ask "what *was* she thinking??"
Whether you are male or female, young, middle-aged or elderly, you simply have to "dress appropriately." I'd look a fool if I dressed like a teen at age 48, and I'd expect to be made a fool *of*. There are people that could carry off the look she's going for... she is *not* one of them.

I agree with chiqui on this.
From the moment you wear something that will make you stick out, you are going to be commented at, possibly laughed at. Imagine someone wearing the Bathingsuit Borat wears and getting mad if people stare, or if someone wears a clown outfit and gets mad at people for laughing when they see them.
People are free towear what they want, but people are also free to say what they want about what is being worn, and who is wearing it!

But in the past few years there has been a quantum leap of several orders of magnitude in the consequences of an unwise act. In the past, you'd be laughed at -- probably discreetly -- by the people physically present. Now, you have people pointing out the sight to as many people as possible (a billion is not out of the question).

I think people have the right to dress as foolishly as they please, but I don't think that it means that the rest of us have to point ...

What is actually sad about this photo is this woman is in the US military and this is how she has chosen to represent herself to a foreign country. We are always told that we are ambassadors to countries that we visits and this is how she decided to show the people of South Korea that Americans act.

Sounds to me like someone has a personal vindetta against either women or women in the military.. Seriously dude, no one can tell by that photograph it's military personell and frankly it can't be proven either.. So, I think maybe you're missing all of the photographic opportunties surrounding you.. Get off the base & enjoy some scenery.

Seems to me it's less about body type and more about a public service announcement to "Don't Be That Girl."

how do you know that she's drunk and stumbling down the road?

I'd have to guess that there is not a single sighted person on the face of the planet that hasn't seen an ass. Children are more mature about what others wear than many adults.

My point, and it stands, is that everyone who wants to tell her what she "should" wear is imposing his or her own values on someone else. It's none of your business what she wears, nor is it your place to ridicule her for it.

Some of you have said this particular woman shouldn't wear that outfit. At least one of you has said no one should.

Who are you to pass judgment either way?

I think that 90% of you have lost sight and thought about it WAYYYY too much. It's inappropriate and that's point blank. If she wants to look like a tramp (that's right a tramp) let her. I will make damn sure that if I see that and my kids are around I will point out something in the opposite direction. You people are so quick to criticize a picture in a thread but lack to critique an image in a challenge. Let’s put that criticism to some use and comment on some pictures.

levyj413 has nailed it several times in this thread. Bottom line: regardless of size or taste, how someone choses to express themselves is their own business. Splashing someone's photo on the internet with the intent to ridicule - that is in bad taste.

There was mention of the burka. Do you realize that many women like wearing their burkas? They don't feel it is a limitation because it protects them from this kind of insensitive scrutiny. However, I would hope that we won't resort to wearing full-body coveralls one day because the joy and freedom of expressing our individuality has been sucked out of us.

I plan on buying a burka when I get to a place that sells them. I think they're kinda cool.

And I dress very inappropriately for my age. I tend to wear stuff that I shouldn't, like jean skirts. I read somewhere that women over 40 shouldn't wear anything above the knee. My jean skirt is above my knee, but not by too much because I'm so darn short that everything is modest on me. I also wear stuff that's entirely too big, mostly because all the hoopla about sizes and self-esteem has made the sizes I used to wear too big for me now. Last I checked they aren't doing negative numbers (I'm not a very big person in any dimension) so I just buy stuff that's too big. And belts. I buy belts. And as one ages, one realizes that bigger is simply more comfortable. I used to laugh at my mom and her elastic waistbanded pants. Now I buy them.

Everyone should wear (or not wear) whatever the heck they want. But if you wear something incredibly inappropriate by the standards of the majority of the people who will see you in it, you must accept that some may point and stare. That's the way of the world. I'm quite sure people make fun of my outfits - I'm hopelessly fashion inept - but I figure I'm giving them a bit of a lighthearted break in their day.

Why does everything have to turn into a rant or arguement? Everybody has an opinion, so I can understand the need to express it (in either direction this post has gone), but why get defensive?
Just my 2 cents
btw, I find her shorts just wrong, especially if she's having her boyfriend pick her wedgie for her, she should take it as a hint. Nobody likes when they try old clothes on only find out they are a bit too tight for comfort, but accept it & buy bigger or get to the gym so they fit again.... Just MY opinion thrown out there.

I think she has a fine figure. Look at her. There is no bulge of fat at her waist or at the hems of the shorts. Big, yes. Fat, no. It looks like it was taken at night, so I guess she was out relaxing and maybe drinking. I say, let people dress how they want. Ogle, stare and point however you want, but it's mean to post pictures purely to make fun of strangers.
