Pictures and everything - thank you so much! I wanted to try and jazz up a pic for the free study - just to see what happens. Hope I can make this work with the Photoshop version I have lol. Appreciate it!

Edit from day 1 ...
i'm gonna start putting in my edited versions from now, coz there were a couple of days i put in more than one photograph .. havent slept for 2 nights so cant be bothered taking any more photographs, especially today .. i've already done nearly all the edits anyway ...
i've tried to give the steps that i took to reach my finished image ... those'll be found in the photographers comments with the image ... i havent been thinking of basic or advanced editing rules for this project .. a couple, like this first one, would be classed as expert because of cloning out elements and skewing or warping ... seeing this a learning thread for editing i dont think limiting ourselves to the actual dpc rules should apply ...
this is original..
this is the edited version ... i've got thumb in photographers comments that i thought would work and reasons why it didnt ...
i've said a lot in the photographer's comments on this one, i wont be so verbose in future!!

This don't look so good. It's time to begin editing pics for this challenge, so this one is first. This is the pic above, cropped and adjusted, using basic editing filters.
I know it looks grainy and foggy, but that's the way I left it. I could have made it clearer, but I wanted the effect of morning light, even though it was mid day when I shot it.

Last day before edit begins - this one needs more work. I'm thinking of cloning out one the guys (the one standing) and adding some sky to top. Will really test my cloning skills! |

I'm behind. I was trying to take the time to leave comments. I have received a lot of great feedback from you guys and I appreciate it!
Here are the rest for this week:
- Day 5 - I have a few more baseball pics to upload
- Day 6
- Day 7
I'd be interested in hearing some editing suggestions since I have poor post-processing skills. Thanks!

Day 7 - Two shots
Kiska (Day 7.1)
Sitting (Day 7.2)
Don't feel compelled to comment on both; pick one (or don't comment at all; I haven't done serious comments in two days -- sorry). Your comments are all very much appreciated, they're a great encouragement and have given me some neat ideas.
Why two shots? Because I took them both today, and I'm going to edit them both, so why not? The dog shot is fairly straight forward (can you hear her snoring? No? I'm surprised, and no, I'm not kidding; she snores louder than most people I know who snore). For my little one, a bit more to be done. I'm thinking a very, very serious crop, and maybe erasing the car behind her; played around in ACDSee (a nice tool to try out things quickly; levels, shadows, rgb, cropping, just for basic effect while choosing an image to really work with), and I think it looked good in a tight, square crop, but I'm not absolutely sure yet.
Seven days done. I'll move to editing my first seven now, in the order I posted them. Not sure I'll be able to continue after that, as I have a conference to attend in the US at the end of the month, and I have barely (ok, not even) started to prepare yet. Going to be busy these next few weeks . . .
Thanks again for all the comments; this has been another good side challenge that I've enjoyed a great deal (and it ain't over yet).
Done rambling.

Day 7
Another Macro.
I'm going to shoot this side challenge a bit longer. Not really sure what the 7-28 means. So, I guess I'm trying for 28 days. Its been fun and its helping me alot. |

Day 7
Another beach shot. This time I had the white balance set wrong and got this kind of cool blue look. Sometimes mistakes are a good thing. |

OK, here's day 7. Finally, I get to start playing.
All of these are just for fun - no comment necessary. I just wanted to share some of the others I'd taken in the past week.
