This is a great head shot and, as such, is nicely cropped. I'm not too crazy about your backgound color choice, JMO. Also, I'd like to see another version that didn't crop out so much. Comparing with the original I'd like to see a version that includes shoulder and hair. In fact, here's my take (hope you don't mind me messing with your stuff)

| Both original and edit are great. I might have chosen a different background color for the edit. To me it distracts from your face and the colors you have going on there and in the neck area. However - beautiful composition and great face. |

The crop plus changing the background color, and then the arms where they are makes the image look almost 3D. The slight shadow along the cheeks also adds to the effect. Wider aperture for shallower DOF would make the effect even stronger.
The edit makes a very powerful looking image. You make a good model too. Pretty face, esp your eyes.
