But don't you think he may have been a bit over-confident? Almost to the point of being a little arrogant/cocky?

I think that may have had something to do with his downfall. JMO of course. ;^)

I would say yes to this .. except he's been very confident since this began from what I can see.

I am with Elsapo on this one in terms of who I think are the best.

Chris sounded like a front man for about 30 alternative/rock bands on your local rock station. Good yes. Original no. Shouldn't have and didn't win. Elliott is original and good. The girl is solid too. My pick who should win: Elliott.

FWIW, I voted for Kat last night, because I didn't want Elliot to beat her... perhaps he was a victim of voters like me :-(

Nope, don't think he was cocky at all. Confident, yes. I think he's a great singer and showed he could sing different genres. I'd buy his CD.

Not really. I really like Chris, but he's not an American Idol. I think he'll go far. I can't wait to get his album (which I'm sure he'll get a contract).

I also like Taylor, but he's not an Idol. I hope he doesn't win either. I bet he would make a good show. I can't wait to see him in concert.

I'd like to see Taylor in a sitcom :-)

Okay, this is just my philosophy about what happened:

I wonder if most people think it is the 18-29 year olds who vote for their favorite(s). What I believe is actually happening is that there are a lot of aging baby boomers and the actual geriatric generation who are watching it for lack of anything better to do and they're phoning in from their nursing homes and the like. I believe that the 50+ crowd is going to like Elliott, Kat and Taylor better than a bonafide rocker. Elliott because he's a crooner, Kat because she has an ageless voice and Taylor because for the boomers it's like watching a modern day version of Joe Cocker and for the geriatrics he is totally amusing/entertaining and if they can't smile and chuckle what else is there for them. I think those three are memorable to them with a bit of nostalgia thrown in and that Chris did nothing for them because it's not their type of music/singing.

That's just my two cents worth! And, I realize it's only my opinion, so please don't get mad at me for voicing what I think.

Someone had to absorb Paris Bennett's votes, and I somehow doubt that the Paris fans were really going to leap to Chris. So there ya go. Chris doesn't need AI anymore, and I think winning it might have actually hurt his potential. All those late 90's alternative rock bands should be tripping all over each other to hire him as their frontman now. He brings a lot of exposure to take them back into the limelight as popular tastes have started drifting away from boy bands and ditsy starlet bubble pop types and back to a rock flavored Top 40.

I think its rigged and the winner is already predetermined. Who really knows what votes get counted.

I think the producers want Kat to win.

My $.02

P.S. I agree with you karmabreeze about Chris winning and it hurting his potential. Thus the rigged statment. One of those producers has him in the studio right now!

Ok...right. It's a conspiracy. ;^)

p.s. - I'm glad to see Chris gone (even though I thought Elliott should have gone first).

Of course they want Kat to win. Elliott? Goofy looking and not much personality. Taylor? Take away the visual and he's a decent singer, but the act and the hair are 90% of his appeal. Otherwise you might as well be trying to sell a Michael McDonald record. Kat is the only one remaining who is actually marketable.

Who knows at this point? About the only thing I feel one can bank on is that Taylor ain't going no where. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

I get a bad feeling that Elliot's head is on the chopping block...and his last song sealed the deal (since not many teenie-boppers are on top of Ray Charles' library of music).
