Look at these fools dancing around.
He's better than this show-- |
Fools laughing and having a good time...all the way to the bank baby! ;^) |
And who's gonna have a bigger bank? Someone in Simon's Pocket Record Deal, Or someone that can step outside of that and make it on his own?
IE Chris... |

Prediction from 5/4/2006 in this thread...but now I'm leaning toward Taylor being the last one standing.
Originally posted by glad2badad: I predict Katharine in the final two for sure based on demographics alone (only female left). Plus she's fun, good-natured and talented.
Taylor will make the final two also as Chris isn't quite as personal and I think will do him in at the end.
Elliot goes next week.
Katharine becomes the next American Idol winner! |

The top five at least (usually the whole top 10) will receive some kind of offer and/or contract. You will see them in commercials, and they will record singles, do acting, commentating, and of course, there is always the Idol tour. And Clive Davis is no slouch, and still takes on more then just the winner. None of them really lose at all. It isn't like they just go back to their day jobs or school or small home town bands. So although I feel sad for a few, it doesn't last long. In some ways they are even better off then becoming the actual American Idol, in which a LOT more falls on their backs and the contract is STIFF and all time consuming. A LOT more is expected of the American Idol, in that they just aren't their own person for the length of the contract. They are bound to endless appearances, concerts, album deadlines, and more of the same repeatedly over and over and over. They can't go to the bathroom without approval. They are totally owned for that million+ contract. That is why Cowell is not really thrilled with those under 16 joining on, because he knows the kind of strain the kids will go through and will be totally expected of them.
So all in all, they are all winners, but the true winner is no better off then the rest other than having the balloons and confetti falling from the ceiling on the final hour of Idol. After that, they can barely breath.
After Idol one, Kelly lost her voice for a month. As you can see by Clive Davis' speech, she has so many great stats because of her schedule - which was the schedule of the contract. Her schedule was practically inhuman. Her's was even more grueling due to being the first Idol. She was not only promoting songs, but she was promoting the ratings for seaon two. She is totally phenomenal with her voice; however, that isn't the only reason for her stats are as stated by Clive.
Since Kelly the rest of the winners are on the lower end of that stat poll because the show already took off by then, and they didn't need to push them as much as Kelly was pushed. It's a bit easier now, but to keep the show itself in top ratings, the winners do much more then just live it up as millionaires. I tell you what, I know "I" could never do what they are expected to do, so they all have my greatest respect.
With all of that, Taylor will win this competition, and he was my pick from day one due to his unique style and stage presence. He is a true performer. Katherine will also receive a contract. No one loses a thing, other than hearing those words and getting that prestige of being called "American Idol". I just don't think that America wants a girl this year again, so that is another reason why I am pretty confident Taylor will get the title. kat was the favorite in the competition, and Taylor was the underdog from day one. America always loves the underdogs, so Taylor will win and rightfully so. I also think he can handle the pressures a bit more than Kat, who is still a bit off her mark to me professionalism wise. She is still trying to figure out what suits her best and hasn't made the best of song choices. With Taylor, he never misses. He could sing Mary Had a Little Lamb and still make it totally his own, be unique, give it stage pressence, and draw you in to it like its the first time you ever heard the song and like a bee to honey. The Soul Patrol is in total control.
