I am sad, I liked Paris.

She is young, and has so much talent...she will make it.

I think Chris or Katharine will make top 2. Either of the two. Chris might make it all the way though. But Im not discounting taylor either. He's one heck of an entertainer. In the end, its all about being entertained.

I could not believe what a good jazz singer she is. Nobody else who has ever been on Idol comes close.

but damn it would be cool if Taylor won!

and btw, I think there is some racism going on here. but it's not American Idol's fault. that's just America for you.

I predict Katharine in the final two for sure based on demographics alone (only female left). Plus she's fun, good-natured and talented.

Taylor will make the final two also as Chris isn't quite as personal and I think will do him in at the end.

Elliot goes next week.

Katharine becomes the next American Idol winner!

Weren't two of the last three American Idols African American? Since you made the blanket statement that Americans are racist did we just decide that two in a row was enough? I missed that meeting...

She just wasn't very likable. Unfortunatley, this show is more than just singing ability or she would have won hands down.

Not trying to start stink, just don't like being lumped in with the idiots of the world that feel they are better than somone else based simply on race, religion, or other beliefs.

Well, it seems like the majority are counting on Chris and Katherine for the top two. But I want to be entertained, and that may just be my generation speaking. I love Taylor's antics and dancing; always has me smiling. Wish he could get that harmonica out again. Those even older than me (which is older than dirt) will probably want Elliott, the crooner, and he is good too, but I just don't feel that wow factor with him.

I'm American, too. And we have a long history of racism. I don't mean to condemn either of us, however. Half of American Idols have been black so far. That's better than the overall population of blacks. But the paring down to twelve (or is it 24?) occurs without public voting. And from those 12 I've seen quite a few really talented black people get booted too early. Fantasia survived only after an uproar.

But I did say "think." I realize there are a lot of popularity factors involved here, but just knowing what I know about our country, our old wounds and our bitter reprisals, I can't help but make the connection.

Just food for thought, but I was a little surprised that Paris was voted off at this point given that she was the only African American left. Kind of thought the voting population of blacks would have rallied for her.

I would have rather seen Elliott leave than Paris myself but don't think Paris would have made it much further based on reasons I stated in my earlier post.

Paris is only 17 so she has a promising future. Sure, being 'the' American Idol would have helped but just the exposure of being on the show should open a few doors.

That's the truth!

Personally, I'd like to see the voting system changed on American Idol. I think you should vote for the one that you think deserves to go home rather than voting for your favorite.

I like all of the contestants left but that girl had more singing talent in her that the others combined IMHO. Chris has been my personal favorite from day 1 but based on talent alone, she blew him out of the water.

I like Katherine....She can really sing, and she has a positive up-beat attitude...I really like Taylor too, but I can't see him being the next American Idol.

yeah, he's got too much personality to be idol. he's also got gray hair, not 100% in the idol-cut-out-perfect smile and body model for american (and canadian) viewers.

I don't think its that, I think that he won't "click" much with the "younger generations"...maybe Im wrong...also if you look at past winners/runerups, they all all very different none of them really have a "perfect smile and body". I like Katherine the most, Chris at a close second.

Someone should offer Kat a screen test she is great!

This is how it is going to go

Elliot will go this week
Taylor next week
Chris the week after that

Leaving Kat our 2006 American Idol!

I think Taylor and Katharine are about even. It doesn't matter much who is going up against Chris in the final two since Chris is going to win the whole thing anyway. ;-)

Not gonna be a spoiler if you haven't watched it yet--
But I almost guarantee the person who sang last is gonna get voted off, :)

Kat and Elliot ... not sure which is going this week. I think we're gonna say bye to Elliot, but Kat gave him a good run for his money for the brown tonight.

Kat is gone .... She knows she's done too. Elliot's 2nd song really helped him a lot!

If all voting was about performance, but it's not...so I wouldn't count Kat out at all. American Idol is a popularity contest as much as it is about talent.

i think taylor's done. poor old-young-man...he reminds me of a cross between joe cocker and michael mcdonald. which in itself isn't bad...but i dont think he has what it takes. elliot is my favorite underdog...he is awesome and his second song last night was phenomenal. chris is awesome too but not quite versatile enough, which just leaves kat, who has one of the most amazing voices i've ever heard. in a nutshell. :)

Y'know what??? They're all fantastic, and I can see them all with celebrity status and secure singing futures.

My personal favorite - Taylor. Sorry, but I thoroughly enjoy being entertained and he always has me smiling. Then again, I'm old.

He is a true entertainer. And a Bama boy too, so I gotta root for him :-)
