I know affluence was a very low scoring challenge, but I had been pretty excited about the creativity of this one...
It doesn't have too many technical flaws either and I thought it deserved better than a 5.2.
My Beverage entry, OTOH, I think should have done worse...
Top 10? I thought there were a lot of good pics in this challenge. Nobody even noticed it was a lava lamp and I can see nothing but the bending paper in the background. Looking in 11th-20th place I see 3 in particular (13th,14th,18th) which I think are superior. |

This was good score but I think it's a bad shot. I think it's oversharpened and the duotone bugs me. The good thing about this is that it's a high score at 5.904 so I have a goal of getting rid of this image from my top scores :)
This on the other hand was a good shot with a bad score. Except for the sensor dust that I couldn't clone out, I think compositionally this is at the top of my portfolio. The overall tonality of the image is good and the image is well balanced. To think this is one of the most photographed structures in the country. This sits at the bottom tier of my highest rated photos at 5.464 When I beat my high score (which I think I will), this will be gone from my top list :(

This was a total shock, as I never really cared
for it that much for it, and frankly still don't:

This I thought was far better than where it fell:

I didn't expect this to get above a 5 because I didn't know what I was doing and ended up with a 6.174
And this funny, but horrible photo rec a 5.582
I thought that this image would do much better until I saw the other entries. I rec a 5.771 on my color portrait entry. Color Portraits aren't really my "thing" so after I saw all of the other GREAT entries I was thrilled to even get over a 5.5 for RYAN.
