There wre so many opinions on what was high contrast I decided to just enter a shot I liked and hope for the best.

here;s my outtake... how would have this done?

Here are the two of mine. Sure at least one of these would have broken a 5.25

I really don't understand how other people see.

I knew this one didn't have enough contrast so I submitted a different one.

I was thinking of this one but figured it didn't quite fit the theme. What do you think?

I had sooooooooooooo many outtakes from this challenge. Shot every day this week and did take some wonderful shots, none really grabbed me until today. I hope I made the right choice. My entry is currently in the mid 6's, so maybe....

... to be continued in 7 days.

Nice shots, Jason, esp. the first one. I understand your pain, mine is hovering arond 5 right now, I guess people just don't see it as a high contrast shot (hard to tell - only one comment so far, and it is positive). Perhaps i should've gone with this kind of shot?

I think it is boring, but definitely high contrast :)

Judgin by my score of 4.3, I should have entered something else, maybe anything else:)

Here are a couple of outtakes, I wonder how they would have done.

I really feel like I shoulda gone with this one in B/W. (I went with color and am paying a price for it I think - I mean it couldn't be anything that was MY fault, right?!? LOL)

Here was my alternate. I have no idea if I made the right choice. All I know is that I won't be getting "Ugh - another stupid cat picture - 2" vote from anyone

Let the family pick this challenge, this is one I liked.

I was only slightly referring to my impression that B/W images will probably perform better in this challenge because of people's varying interpretations of "contrast". I was mostly referring to my tongue in cheek remark about having "any excuse to blame my score on except myself"! :-)

I am confused, which is not unusual here - why do so many people think that an ordinary B&W photo is high contrast. There seems to be a lot of muddled thinking between High Contrast and High Key also.

The highest contrast photos I voted on were colour.
