Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Composition:
I really like this image but I do feel the composition is a little off, I would have liked the bikes to be not directly under the sun, however this was a chance shot and not a lot you could have done about their positioning :) I do feel however that a slight crop on the right would be beneficial then the woman would act more like a stopper at that edge of the image and there's no real interest behind her so it wouldn't hurt the image in any case. Also as mentioned below it could use a little straightening ;)

Technicals:

The shot is sharp and exposure is good so no problems there at all.

Post-Processing:

Very nicely done other than the straightening issue, I love the colours and the sky is not over done - as mentioned above sharp as a tack as well.

My Opinion:

Great shot, very well taken and in my opinion deserved a higher score, although that said it could be that it didn't really fit the scene as there's not much mundane in the image.

Hope this was of some use, should you wish to discuss any part of the critique further please feel free to PM me.

Good luck in future challenges!

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Composition:
I like the angle you have chosen to take this shot at as directly top down would have meant a weird central composition or something similar, as it is it nicely fills the frame and is quite pleasing to the viewer.

Technicals:

The shot is sharp where it needs to be and I like the shallow DOF, exposure looks good on the fruit and again that's where it needs to be for this shot.

Post-Processing:

You were fairly limited by basic editing ruleset and I think you did a good job of sharpening and getting the colours to pop considering this ruleset.

My Opinion:

I love Corona (and Sun Del Sol :p) with a lime punch.

As for the shot, I think it's pretty good overall - main problem is it's a mundane subject that hasn't been really made to WOW the voters, in the eyes of the voter it's a nicely taken shot (and quite creatively taken) of a mundane subject, they would be expecting more fireworks :)

Hope this was of some use, should you wish to discuss any part of the critique further please feel free to PM me.

Good luck in future challenges!

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Composition:

I like the negative space on the left of this shot, although I do feel that it's a bit tight on the bottom, maybe a little more reflection would give a bit more balance to the image.

Technicals:

Looks sharp enough and the exposure looks ok too.

Post-Processing:

The Bananna looks a little flat maybe a curves and contrast adjustment could have helped lift it a little. Plus a little sharpening too, although having said that the dandelion looks quite sharp so it's unfortunate that it's basic editing and you couldn't selectively sharpen.

My Opinion:

Quite like the image actually and with a slightly different crop and some more editing in photoshop this could have scored better, I know the subject was mundane but I think this needed a little more in the WOW factor, think Mundane on steroids - something that makes the viewer go "Wow now that's a Bananna shot!" or something similar ;)

Hope this was of some use, should you wish to discuss any part of the critique further please feel free to PM me.

Good luck in future challenges!

Fruits in Box

Fruits in Box

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Composition:

Is not too bad, but I do feel that repositioning yourself so the top of the box was not angled away from the camera (or that's how it seems) as it is the top of the box does not look level yet the rest of the image does look level, I believe this to be a perspective issue.

Technicals:

Colour is good and the focus looks to be reasonable, it could do with some sharpening over the whole image though.

Post-Processing:

As mentioned above the image definitely needs some sharpening, a high pass filter on softlight would help a lot. Colour wise it looks good and I like the fact that you have upped the contrast.

My Opinion:

The subject is ok for the challenge, fruit is mundane in nature :) and you have done a fairly good job of making it look non mundane, I like the fact that you had candles inside the box but I wonder if the amount of light outside the box kind of detracts from this a bit, had the box been the brightest area it could have been a stronger image IMO.

Hope this was of some use, should you wish to discuss any part of the critique further please feel free to PM me.

Good luck in future challenges!
