Fine expression to set this cat apart from other less interesting portraits. Might consider cropping tighter on the right to reduce the expanse of bright background, and maybe a bit from the left for balance and to approach a square crop.

Lots of drama even if it is not so clear just where the "nine" fits. It took me a while to notice that the large dark critter isn't a spider. Gradation of greens in background adds interest.

Creative set up. Graphic quality is so nice that it makes me wish for a next degree of perfection, maybe keeping the inner cover and page tighter to the other pages and tacking down the feathered pages for more uniformity (tacky glue? - or maybe not...). The colors and shapes inside the loop keep the eye occupied well.

Thumbnail view: five contrails. Voting view: nine red airplanes - nice visual surprise. Red usually works well with blue, so choice of grey sky is interesting. I think that sets up the small red areas to have much greater impact. Well seen and nicely executed.

Square crop is good for this subject and the almost glowing yellow-green stem makes this better than many flower shots. I wonder if rotating to have the stem end closer to a corner (if possible) might make this more dynamic.

I suppose kaleidoscope eyes could result from consuming 9 "Buds". I think the curve of green and black in the upper left takes away from the rest of the image - scrolling suggests a slight crop from the top and left to eliminate the pure black part of that curve and reduce the size of the purple area in the lower left would make the nine buds stronger visually.
