I really wanted to shoot a flower macro through this cheap-o faceted plastic lens, which just happens to fit the lens opening of my Olympus camera:
... I figured I could adjust it to show nine iterations of the subject ... I also wanted to make sure that there were nine characters in the title ... :-)

-Handheld, Macro. auto mode
-Noise reduction with PictureCooler
-RGB curve
-Resize
-Crop from left to square
-USM at 16%/64 dia/TH = 0 (applied twice)
-Apply 2-pixel stroke of 80% black
-Increase Canvas Size by 3 pixels on each side at 100% Black
-SaveAs JPEG at quality 9/10 = 149KB

I see what your were trying to do. Nice attempt. Maybe if you put it on tripod, it would have a sharper focus through the faceted lens. The hand shake is probably what spoiled the image. It makes cool rainbow effect on the edges of petals. Keep experimenting with it, you will eventually get a good one out of it.

Trippy! Fun looking blur too. Did you use a glass or a mirror? Interesting idea.

So that what the world looks like to a fly. Interesting.

I suppose kaleidoscope eyes could result from consuming 9 "Buds". I think the curve of green and black in the upper left takes away from the rest of the image - scrolling suggests a slight crop from the top and left to eliminate the pure black part of that curve and reduce the size of the purple area in the lower left would make the nine buds stronger visually.

little to unfocused for my taste.
