Unidentified Flying Pear by hajekaComment: Enjoying the irony of using a classic "still" life subject in a "motion" challenge. Nice graphic quality. Wish the highlight would be a little softer. 9 |

weed danceby LevTComment: Love the complexity emerging from such simple shapes and limited colors. The sense of depth and motion evoke compounded feelings -- mixture of peace and beauty with hint of mystery and perhaps sadness. Excellent image. |

Mr. Nimbusby odriewComment: Back to bump up a point after finally seeing the face in the thumbnail. Full size, the drops capture the most attention, but the overall effect is interesting. |

Inside Outby JudiComment: Masterful use of light and thoughtful capture of expression. The scattered leaves echo the sense of adolescent transition, and convert this from a standard portrait to a visual essay on changes as life goes on. All the more poignent knowing the dramatic changes you have experienced this year. Amazing image. |

Twin Lens Reflex 1953by SenayComment: Actually holds interest for me, but compoistion might be stronger with upper white space cropped closer to the subject. |

Wild Winterby hojop25Comment: The water drops give this a sense of cold, at least from their shapes and the amount of white. Nice isolation of main subject. The branch, pointing from right to left, moves the eye in the opposite direction from normal reading pattern. While this gives some tension, it would be interesting to try it flipped horizontally to see how that feels. |

They gather at midnightby jmritzComment: Excellent composition for the challenge (no verticle or horizontal symmetry, people gathered away from center, and bright area clearly off-center) with lots of ambiguous figures to stimulate thinking about alternative meanings/interpretations. Maybe the grain is stronger than necessary, but it is very hard to understand why this would receive 29 votes of 3 or lower. |
