PaW 2009 Week 2: Waxing Gibbousby marcbentonComment: PAW - Very impressive, sharp, well exposed shot of the moon for a 75-300 zoom. I tried this before with my 18-200 and it didn't turn out well at all. I tried again tonight with similar results. I did it hand-held with stabilization turned on. A tripod would probably work better. Did you use fully manual exposure settings? It's hard to get good exposure with automatic. You may have gotten even a better shot with lower ISO. |

week 01 - At the Ballby boyd2000Comment: Thanks for the comments. Constructive criticism would be especially welcome also. Yes, it's a snow globe, but I went to extra effort to ensure it wasn't shaken up so it would be as clear as possible for this picture. It looks like it was a little dusty after all. Now I'm wondering if I should have thought out shooting at home for a year. Of course there are 52 shots around home, but can I make them all interesting? We'll see. |

Browns Additions Sanctuaryby jhess77Comment: PAW - Good capture. I like the texture on the clouds overhead. Adding to SandyP's comment I wonder if a narrow-beam 6v lantern flashlight shining up on the cross would make it look more glowing without being too obvious. |

Week 1: Bad Omenby socalsteveComment: PAW - Creative shot. I agree with comments it would be better with the man closer to the door. Also, he looks disinterested. If he had a menacing look it would be much more effective if that was your purpose. On the other hand maybe it was your neighbor coming over for dinner and loaning you his carving knife. |

Week-1by DigiFotoBuddyComment: PAW - Beautiful shot. They have similar jellyfish and lighting at the Birch Aquarium in San Diego, but it's hard to get a picture with the limited light. What ISO and shutter speed did you use? You got really good detail. |

Busy Squirrel - Face Cropby davidwComment: Thanks for accommodating my request. It still looks good at this crop level and gives better detail. You had me fooled with the sky/snowbank also. |

2.52 To workby MelethiaComment: Very nice post-processing. Nice composition. The guy in front really stands out. I like how the rest of it fades to B&W. Was that how it was or the TotallyRad? You're up pretty late. (eta) I guess it's morning there now. Message edited by author 2009-01-10 02:50:15. |

Bear Flagby GermaineComment: I'm a little puzzled at the lamp appearing to be behind the flag, but with typical sizes it should be much smaller than it is. Maybe it's in front of the flag but since it's suspended there is no post. There seems to be too much negative black space here. The focus seems a little soft, maybe because of the Lensbaby or the f2. Otherwise, a nice shot. I'm very familiar with that flag. |

Leafs and Flowers - Eternal Friendship.by pedrobopComment: I agree with the other comments. Also you could bring out more detail by increasing the contrast and using Unsharp Mask or Smart Sharpen (I see you have CS4). Otherwise you did very well with a point and shoot camera. I usually comment on shots that need major help, that I feel I can provide some constructive criticism or that really stand out and this one didn't do any of those to me. I gave you a 6. |

Not again!by Rob OComment: This is what I was trying to get and have a title of "gimme?", but couldn't get access onto a golf course. Very well shot with the flag in the background. |
