Crazy Canucks! One of my two 10s for the challenge. I love the color contrast I'd make a minor cropping change and lose the tree. Just for visual impact- this is great.

This is one of my 2 10s in this challenge. I love the choice of black and white. The way both subjects appear to be looking in the opposite direction drew me in. I love the fact that the boxer looks like he's trying to check in on the kitten. ) I'd like to see this one in color.

This is a classic example of a snapshot with potential. :) Couple of things to consider here. First is, what's the most interesting part of the shot? Answer is the expression on baby's face. We can't see it real well due to the placement of the bars. The first thing to do- move to your right. Frame the shot so baby's face doesn't have the bar going through it. If that doesn't work- change your angle. Shoot from behind the bambino. Make the pacifiers the focus. That could make this more than just the typical baby shot. You have a great idea here. Play with it a bit and see how shooting from different angles can make it different. 5

I usually like shallow DOF. I'm going through a shallow dof phase. :) In this image, I'm not totally sure if it helps or not. The light source on the paint tubes feels overly harsh, and leads to reflections that are distracting on the blue background. I'm also wondering if part of the problem might just be color choice? The image feels harshly lit, and the white being the only infocus element enforces that feeling. I might consider diffusing the light source with a piece of paper to soften the light and move the red or orange to be the infocus color. (assuming you are trying to get a shallow DOF shot.) 5

Eight 1s???! No way. This is a very solid black and white image that manages to convay a sense of waiting to anyone who's ever waited for the last seed on a dandilion to fall. The minor distraction for me appears to be cobwebs? They don't add to the image, and the lines they create take my eyes away from the image focal point. Also, one of the background twigs/flowers is still too strong even with the shallow DOF. That was the only two things that kept this from being a 9. 8

I saw this shot after watching an episode of Family Plots. :) Great choice of black and white. I'd like to see more of the hourglass. It's kind of blending into the lid. This shot has some great stock potential. 7

This had strong potential to be one of you highest scoring images. It was just in the wrong challenge. :( This is a solid 8 atleast in the right challenge. Great DOF, clear, sharp, and excellent composition.

This was as close to a no-brainer 10 as it gets. The first time in ages that an image jumped out at me, grabbed me by the throat, and yelled, 'GIMME A 10!'

Very agressive photo you have there jodi. :)

I can't figure out how it got a one either. :) This is a shot of the Washington Monument framed through the pillars of the Jefferson Memorial. It was a pretty overcast day, so there's not much color to the shot. I'm wokring to reshoot this when I have some better sky color working for me. :)

Special thanks to my editing team, who foreced me to submit this at the last minute. I appreciate it guys! If you gave me a 1, drop me a note and let me know why. I'm interested in more ways to improve the shot.
