I little too shallow on the DOF, it makes the choices harder to find.

I usually like shallow DOF. I'm going through a shallow dof phase. :) In this image, I'm not totally sure if it helps or not. The light source on the paint tubes feels overly harsh, and leads to reflections that are distracting on the blue background. I'm also wondering if part of the problem might just be color choice? The image feels harshly lit, and the white being the only infocus element enforces that feeling. I might consider diffusing the light source with a piece of paper to soften the light and move the red or orange to be the infocus color. (assuming you are trying to get a shallow DOF shot.) 5

Great shallow DOF, although the in focus item looks a little soft, and the highlights on the rear tubes are distracting it's otherwise brilliant.

focus on more than one paint to convey then sense of choice

I would have focused on the second paint, and had slightly more depth of field.

I would have liked to see the second tube more clear, so the deep of field a little short to my test... 5

nice colors but too much of the pic is out of focus

instead of sharply focusing just first one you could have focused somewhere in middle with slightly deeper depth of field

Nice image and nice thought. I think I would like it more without blurring of the other paints.

the lighting is really harsh. the reflections in the back make it distracting. apart from that, good shot, nice dof and good idea. 6

Just like with the crayon versions, if only one is clear, it presupposes the chioce having been made.

Only one color per day?

nice treatment, but too expected

i would have liked a deeper DOF

use deeper DPF and make every one clear would match the topic better becase what I learned from your picture is that you are surely gonna take the first one and not even look at the others.

DOF is way too shallow -- the great majority of the photo is out of focus.

too much out of focus to be interesting ! a5
