Great use of selective focus! Also beautiful colors and good composition. Only thing I'd change is to reduce the width of the black surround by a bit, maybe one cm on each side - 8

David, that's a superb photo. And amusing too, in light of the controversy over the original's "candidness". At least yours is clearly a candid!

The only thing I'd change is a slight perspective de-skewing. Check out my edit:

Superb colors and lighting! An 8 from me, would be 10 if the crop were shifted up just a bit (loosing the grass at the bottom, including the whole curve at the top)

Wow! That one starburst glint gives the image an "outer-space' abstract quality. And the irredescent green is simply amazing. Now I've got to take a closer look next time one of my cats is asleep in the sun - 10
