This would have been more successful if the bananas were not obscuring the lower half of hs face. I know you want the focus to be on his eyes but I think the bananas and his hand are a little too blurry. Could a happy medium be achieved where the sharpest details are in his face without losing all the detail in the bananas? The lighting is great and the subject appealing. There is a bit to much purple cast to the grays.

Nice color and lighting. It's a very fake looking set-up though. It looks like what it is....someone holding bananas up to the sky. It looks more like an offering than a gift.

At first I thought that white splotch on the boy's shirt was overly bright lighting. I think if he were wearing a simpler shirt this would have worked better as the white is very distracting.The background should have been blurred. I have a strong bias against this Photoshop effect. The boy is appealing, though.

I'm voting on this challenge (as I do all challenges) by first asking myself, does this photo have any appeal outside the boundaries of the challenge. In other words, art comes first. In this case I have to say, \"no\". The subject does not appeal to me as something I would want to look at again and again. Truthfully, I find it unpleasant to look at. I don't mind being made uncomfortable by a photo but this is just mundanely distasteful to me. There isn't enough contrast between the background and the top edge of the banana, It nearly disappears into the background. The only details in the banana are in the lower edge where it is in shadow.

In this case I have to say, "no". The subject does not appeal to me as something I would want to look at again and again. Technically, the lighting is flat, lacking drama and detail. There is nowhere for the eye to rest.

I don't find this subject very interesting or visually appealing. I realize the title of your photo is "Lonely" but this would have worked better with more bananas filling the container. As it stands there is too much static black negative space. The vertical and curvey lines of the the container don't really break it up because the contrast isn't strong enough. The lighting is very flat and boring.

I like snakes but I'm not finding this shot very compelling. The background is simple and the focus is sharp (on the snake --- the banana is rather fuzzy). I like the motion blur on his tongue. It's just not wowing me.
