My daughter, facing the window, with my other daughter holding a black poster board behind her. She's only 12, I'm a horrible mother! ;)

Cropped, adjusted black and white points, adjusted brightness and contrast and did some cloning to get rid of the facial hair (remember she's 12) and her mole and other freckles :) Softened the skin to cover any other imprefections and here you have it. I'm a horrible mother, I know but truth be told her and Ellie argued over who got to pose for this one, I picked Melissa because she had the fuller lips :)

I think that I am going to phant on some of the comments, if you know what I mean! Anyway, very nice but has a little noise in it, a little on the side, either that or I am blind and/or can't see well. Very nice though!

Love it!

Deannda,

This is a wonderful composition, and a brilliant idea, you definetly deserve the score you got! However, with just a few finishing details, this could have broken the seven barrier and grabbed you a ribbon!

As this was an 'advanced' editing challenge, it would have been nice to see the background a true flat black, a little burning would have darkened up that right-hand corner which is slightly distracting.

What type of lighting did you use? The banana seems to be covered in a fair amount of shadow. A good idea would've been to shoot this outside, as natural light would've given evenly distributed light across the entire photo, allowing us a fuller view of the banana.

One technique that might've looked cool on this photo is selective desaturation. If you had desaturated the face, it would have left only the lips and banana in color, which really would've given it a 'WOWZERS' (which it already has, but even more so). Also along these lines, it might've been nice to get rid of the red in the banana, which you probably could've done by using the sponge desaturation tool on the red channel.

Those are my comments! Don't think I have all negative, cause I think this is a wonderful image, and am glad too see you placed so well with it. Funnily enough, I took a picture very similar to this one for the freedom 2 challenge:

Good luck, and keep up the good work!

Lee

Your turn for the dreaded 4th place Deannda. (Remember she's only twelve) very sensual shot! I didn't get to vote on all these cause I thought there was one more day, but I woulda (she's twelve...) have given a good score to this one! I just gotta remember she's only twelve! :-P

Simple composition, but comes across powerfully. I'd do a tiny bit of cloning of the tip of the nanner to keep the small bits from distracting from the black background. 8

This mouth does not look like it is gona eat the banana so the title is not the right one :P You should also try to fix this white thing in the top right corner. Other then that I like it :)

Good composition, but colours are not very sexy (particularly the banana). This may have been better given some treatment with Color Balnce, Hue/Saturation.

This is very sensual. There is a wonderful contrast between the shiny wet lips and the banana. It is my favorite image in this challenge.

Most of the chin should have been cropped off here.

Ahem, am I the only one reading something Freudian in that shot or do I just have a dirty mind? LOL. Well done shot BTW. I would have preferred a pure black background though. 7

WOW. Seeing the red of the lipstick reflecting off the tip of the banana is amazing. This shot just grabs me. Nicely done.
