Thanks for the link to the shot that inspired you - the one area in which I think it beats your own version for me is the way the light from the sparklers also makes the car itself visible - one can see the door, the registration plate, the radiator grill and the body of the car...
That said, I like the way your sparkler lines are thicker and show more of the flying sparks than the original version.

And this a FAR superior car of course :-) |

beachdogby rinacComment: Was just looking through my favourites again - it soothes my soul :-) and came upon this again.
I still absolutely adore it, the reflection, the joy in his movement, his almost in focus face.
It's charming. |

The Great Tobacco Hornworm Takes His Bowby bs-photosComment: Originally posted by yanko: Originally posted by rinac: I wonder why so many people think insects are not animals, let alone wildlife??? In any event, this was one of my top picks, congratulations on a fine finish! |
I don't think many would argue with you in general but this challenge was pretty clear on it if you read the challenge description. Regardless, DPC should just get rid of the descriptions. Nobody reads them anyway. |
But two out of the top three being not in their natural environment was ok though??

Stalkingby PhotoJeffComment: I didn't leave one of the comments you mention, but I'd just like to say that I think this is lovely.
Just hinting at whats there works really well and I love the soft feel of the photograph.
Very nice.

Autumnal Openingsby jonfrommkComment: I love conkers. Their lustre is beautiful. Unfortunately it doesn't last long.
Ahh, takes me back to baking them in the oven to cheat at school - and the inevitable bruised knuckles. :-) Message edited by author 2007-09-19 05:32:29. |

The Place Where Romance Starts by william88Comment: Don't comment on here often, but just wanted to say that although two almost identical pictures were submitted in the two challenges, the completely different moods they evoke are testament to the photographer, both in the capture and the PP.
They are both beautiful, but this one is my favourite. |
