Secrets by imagesbytlpComment: Isn't there a way to throw out "1" scores? It's ridiculous and obviously done with malice regarding a photo this nice.
These undeserving low scores can make the difference between ribbons or no ribbon at all.

Lemon Splash by h2Comment: Something really needs to be done with obviously jealous inept supposed "photographers" giving ridiculous low scores for images like this.
Seems it happens every contest and sometimes can make the difference between places or even getting a ribbon.
The odd low scores should be thrown out.

Innocent eyesby PERCOMComment: One of my favorites. It would've scored much higher for me if it were cropped in much tighter. Beautiful shot and beautiful model though. |

Gene, when you go to a beautiful place. Do you release shutter only once? If not, do you release twice "purposely"?
I am sorry but I am different from you. I don't have time to consider how many shots do I need to take.
My camera was on the tripod and I took 5 shots, all of them have the same composition but different clouds because they moved fast.
BTW, which rule said this is not allowed? Please read the rules carefully yourself. |
It would be based on this one: "use the same original image in more than one challenge."
While I agree that when you are in a situation like you were that taking many photos is the thing to do, I don't agree with using what is essentially the same photo in more than one contest.
As I said you are technically correct in using this second image, I just don't agree with it. Again JMO.

Morning Sentinels by mpetersComment: I don't get it. While this is a very nice "scenic" photograph, I don't see how it fits in with the theme "vanishing point" any better than other shots that were commented on as not fitting in.
It has two parallel lines but they do not converge in this image, thus there is no vanishing point.
I'm not complaining I'm just trying to get a better understanding of what fits and what doesn't within the challenges.
So far, I've come to the early conclusion that there is no rhyme or reason. Kind of like it's all decided according to the chaos theory.

Springby AnnComment: I guess if you were on a slope then taking it from a different perspective, or one without the buildings so that when "straightened" it would look normal.
The other thing after looking at it again is that it needs a lot more DOF, maybe a shorter lens too.
Still like the shot though. Nice work.
