butterfliesby brizmamaComment: I love the collage setup here. I also love the many beautiful flowers you have here as well as the butterflies. Two of my favorite subjects even though many find them boring. Foto fusion is nice. I must remember to use it more often.

Tiki in the windby skieruscanComment: Greetings from the critique club. First off let me tell you that I think your take on the challenge is great. I love the fact that you were able to get the color of the flame and also got some detail in the Tiki torch. I'd like to see a little more detail in the torch and also I'd love to see the end of the flame. Overall you did a nice job with a good take on the challenge. |

Don't try this at home - cut off intentionallyby Delta_6Comment: Greetings from the critique club. Studying your photo for a bit I'd like to offer some suggestions. This is certainly a unique and dramatic take on the challenge. However since its hard for the viewer during voting to know what exactly it is, besides the fire part that is, I dont think the voter can understand what they are seeing. It also appears as though the focus isnt spot on which is required by DPC voters to score well. The last suggestion I can offer is that if you dont think the crop, effect you are trying to convey to your viewer isnt there, dont put it in the title, try to retake it so that it might be. Overall good effort and good luck in future challenges. |

Burning the Candle at Both Endsby deputydogComment: Greetings from the critique club. After viewing your photo I have a few suggestions. First I think the concept is very nice. The simplicity of the shot and the relavence to the challenge are perfect. I'm not sure you put it all together as well as it could have been and I would like to suggest a few things. One thing to consider when using mirrors is the angle at which you shoot. The reflected candle looks a wee bit crooked. I'd also suggest that instead of using a black background that you light the room your in with a colored bulb perhaps light blue to give it a better background rather then all the negative space. Your exposure is pretty nice and its well focused. Good luck in future challenges. |

Burning the green fairyby bryantbusComment: Greetings from the critique club. After viewing your photo I have a few things to mention. First the choice of subject and back ground combination work very well. Its a well thought out composition and setup. I wish it wasnt so tightly cropped on the left with so much negative space on the right. I would have liked to have seen the top of the bottle as well. The only other thing is the flash reflection on the bottle. Overall very well done, I would have scored this a 6 on initial look and depending on the rest I may have bumped it to a 7 later on. Nicely done and good luck with future challenges. |

Romance...by Gaby_GComment: Greetings from the Critique Club. I have looked over your entry and I have a few comments. First let me say this is a fantastic setup and idea. I wish the image had been a touch sharper. I'd suggest stopping down the lens to maybe f8-f11 and going with a little longer exposure. I'm not sure how that would effect the flame it would depend on how long your exposure ended up. You could get more light on the face without blowing out the candle I think. Overall I think you did pretty good with the concept a few minor adjustments I think this could have scored a bit better. The framing is near perfect for the effect and the title fits well. |

Dahlia Flambéby banmornComment: Greetings from the Critique club. I like the concept of this photo. I like the fact that you used double exposure to get this. I wish it had blended a little better where they meet. It almost looks like the flower is back from the flame rather then in it. I love the fact that the flower is super sharp. I'm not sure I like how the flame is not very well exposed. Not sure what it is, jut doesnt look sharp. NOt sure if its a shutter speed or a focus problem. Either way I think you did pretty well with it. Used your equipment well to get a unique effect and take on the challenge. Nicely done.

mumbula-fallsby TimComment: I really like the water, although I think had you shortened the exposure time you could have gotten the same effect but not killed the rest of the shot. The rocks looks soft and are in need of a touch of work. I like the frame and the fade on it. Overall its a nice photo. |

Blue Skies & Golden Sandsby sherpetComment: I will agree here, I see alot of pixelation due to oversharpening and saturation bumped way too high. This is a lovely photo with composition and coloring and I'd wager it could be processed less and make an amazing seascape. Please dont take my comments wrong I just think you have some awesome photos just have processed them too far. |
