i like the shapes created by the different entrances, maybe a tighter crop on the upper line above the first one will improve the overall perspective

It's quite simple, is grain sprayed with water. I take my 100mm macro lens and start 'hunting': while I'm moving back and forth I rotate the focus ring till something worth it gets in my viewfinder. Using a tripod is must!
For this one here I used iso 640, f5.6, 1/6.

While for the other one below I had iso 640, f3.5, 1/20

The most preferred way is to fill the frame but depends on the subject I have. Anyway this is what I aim for.

impressive! what i like most is the b&w tonality and the shape, i find the sharp area a bit too far for viewer perspective; i feel too much oof pops in my eyes
