A failed dateby FrallComment: Nice work with the weeping feel that the tree provides, but the water line looks tilted hard to the right. I like the composition, the silhouetting , and I think that the square cropping works very well. |

Faiiled Loveby snafflesComment: It is really hard to tell what the subject is in this shot. I can make out a glass, but the focus, coloring, and exposure work to blend everything together. |

Losing the Gameby anglextComment: The cropping is just a little too tight, and I'd like to see his expression. It could be failure, but it's hard to tell without seeing the expression. Nice exposure and great depth of field use. |

Strikeoutby EricMGB1974Comment: Very nice take on the subject of failure. You captured a really nice expression that fits well with the title, yet does not rely on the title to meet the challenge. I would like to see him just a little more inside the frame. |

Jar Jar Stinksby LaughJockeyComment: Interesting, but a bit too centered. Also, the background is distracting. A more shallow depth of field could have helped this one out some. |

Nuclear Power...by sceliaComment: Well composed and exposed stop-motion capture. I think that it fits into the challenge nicely, but I'd like to see it with a bit less haze. A slight curves adjustment would have helped out a great deal. |

pondering today's competitionby briantammyComment: This is a terrific photograph, but I don't feel the failure. The composition, lighting, exposure and leading lines are among the best in the challenge, but I think that it misses mark as far as the challenge goes. I am still giving it a high score based on image quality alone. Great work! |

Last Matchby Rando D300Comment: Unique choice of subjects for this challenge. I like the low-key feel that you produced and your lighting is fantastic. I'd like to see him pulled off the background a bit and a slightly more shallow depth of field used to blur that slightly wrinkled background. |

Reaching Outby ChikaZAWaComment: Top ten on your second entry...very nice. This is a really nice image, and the placing is well deserved. The toning and the centered composition work very, very well for this photograph. My only critique is that you lost a little pixel data on the right near the bottom during the post-processing. Nothing you could do about it for basic editing, but something to work on if you are looking to print it. Great eye and a terrific capture. Its always good to see the GA photogs up near the top. |
