::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

There are so many contradictory comments on this image, it really is up to you who if any your listen to.

First Impression - the most important one:
Yup .. lonely and all alone .. but the title is what i have to look at t make the story complete.

Composition:
I like this composition. It works... I think in order to really make the image i would have turned the models head and place it resting on the hand ... this puts across a slight destitute feel.

Subject:
Meets the challenge, but the title does help it get there.

Technical (Colour and light):
Lovely .. I like the siluoette .. I like the colours in the sky.

To grow its vote?:
Think about how you use a model to convery what you are looking for, otherwise it can look just like a lucky snapshot.

Summary:
Great work .. and well done.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via
the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

Hey, why don't I take some obscure photograph that has nothing to with the challenge, and then give it a title which barely fits, but is passable, and hope that I will win? Good picture none the less.

like the picture, need to not have him as central point

Very colours. The silhouette ads a contrast too it.

Only your title says there's failure in this photo and that's not enough for me. I don't see failure in the photo, all I see is a man enjoying sunset sitting on a bench at a lake.

A beautiful, serene shot, but I have to mark it down a bit for this challenge because, without the title, I get absolutely no sense of failure. Yes, he's alone, but I don't get the impression he's unhappy about that.

Nice work with the weeping feel that the tree provides, but the water line looks tilted hard to the right. I like the composition, the silhouetting , and I think that the square cropping works very well.

The colors in the sky are outstanding and the silohuette of the single guy and the trees is great.

Beautiful colors and contrast! The photo also expresses the title perfectly. :)

The loneliness of the situation is very well portrayed here. The darkness, and blues add to that feeling. The yellow tones and beauty of the scene give me hope for him. A wonderful combination.
