::: Greetings from Critique Club :::

Hi, as requested, here is an indepth critique of your submission.

First Impression - the most important one:
What a lucky capture to have had for this challenge :-) Definitely not a typical shot here.

Composition:
Composition is ok. I think it works well for this image.

Subject:
The subject stands out well from the wooded background.

Technical (Color, focus, and light):
Focus seems ok. Light is pretty good, but the blue tint to the shadows in the trees is a bit distracting. I'm thinking this was probably a Haze issue with UV light. I think you could have taken care of that with slective color in photoshop.

To grow its vote?:
The color issue probably could have grown its vote a little, More agressive editing could have made this shot more dramatic.

Summary:
I really think this shot is cool. And am glad to see that it scored reasonably well in this challenge. NICE CAPTURE!

Hope to see more from you soon,
Leroy

Amazing.....A great shot.....
05/30/2006 08:12:23 PM
that looks amazing
05/30/2006 08:08:19 PM
Cool photo, but I don't see "failure" so much as falling.
05/30/2006 05:18:39 PM
Doubtful
05/30/2006 01:31:21 PM
Great Capture!!
05/30/2006 12:39:07 PM
Ironic
05/30/2006 11:09:19 AM
great capture!

What? Is that actually being blown up? Awesomee moment you captured there, I love the detail inthe smoke and in the birds flying away and all that. Image quality could be a bit better though, seems a bit flat and could use some boosting in the contrast but the moment is superb, it got an 8 from me.
05/27/2006 07:01:47 PM
How on earth did you get that? Cool.
05/27/2006 12:16:55 AM
This is an unbelievable capture. What a moment.
05/26/2006 06:49:37 PM
Very nice photograph.
05/26/2006 04:57:34 PM
I'm not sure why it's a failure, but this a really cool shot!
05/26/2006 12:31:15 PM
Really good shot of tower destruction. Without your title I would have a hard time matching it to the challenge.
05/26/2006 05:36:39 AM
Columbia River plant implosion? nice image.
05/26/2006 01:54:54 AM
What a timely capture!
05/26/2006 01:14:09 AM
I knew some one would take a photo of this...
05/25/2006 06:33:26 PM
well taken.
05/25/2006 06:28:54 PM
Yikes... I hope you started running fast after you snapped the picture...
05/25/2006 05:59:51 PM
Well composed and exposed stop-motion capture. I think that it fits into the challenge nicely, but I'd like to see it with a bit less haze. A slight curves adjustment would have helped out a great deal.
05/25/2006 02:20:47 PM
And seemingly to rise again. Well done.
05/25/2006 01:38:47 PM
i saw some other photos of this implosion, great capture
05/24/2006 10:53:55 PM
Failure to escape...maybe. (8)
05/24/2006 08:35:19 PM
Hmmm so I guess you are saying Nuclear Power is a failure? Does this shot represent nuclear power as failure? Not really. If you would have had a shot of the Chernobyl plant in the Soviet Union and it's effects on the area and titled it accordingly then I would have voted 6 - 10 depending on the shot.

However...this shot will get a score from me based on the technical aspects of the shot only.
05/24/2006 08:31:31 PM
oh no! awesome capture, I wish the photo had more contrast and wasn't lightened up so much, but you probably had to do this to bring out the picture as this was probably a very quick capture, nice composition and good focus though, nice work
05/24/2006 07:03:04 PM
Great capture, looks a little washed out, not sure if bumping up the contrast would help.
05/24/2006 06:23:06 PM
I saw this on the News. Looks pretty spectacular. Think I like it better without the sky at the top.
05/24/2006 06:20:27 PM
without the title, A successful demolishion job....4
05/24/2006 05:30:56 PM
Did you know that is the structure that inspired the Simpsons.
05/24/2006 12:34:30 PM
Right place, right time. Nicely caught. Nicely developed. Would also have been a winner in Photojournalism a few challenges ago.
05/24/2006 09:14:19 AM
Great action shot. Um...you think you may have been a little to close to that for health's sake??
05/24/2006 05:47:26 AM
What is happening there? Isn't that dangerous? Sorry, I don't know anything about nuclear power. In my country we use waterfalls
05/24/2006 04:52:45 AM
thinking the jury is still out- interesting photo though- imagine it was tough to decide the cropping because i can't decide if i like what i see or not
05/24/2006 02:28:47 AM
Hey, terrific! You found your vantage point and got your shot!
05/24/2006 01:57:03 AM
Whoa! Great capture! :) If I looked over and saw that sight, I may have quite possibly needed a change of shorts. Very unique occurence to capture. :)
