Huntington Beach NSSA championship this weekend. I just happened upon this guy sitting here. He didn't even know I was shooting him. Took about 10 shots. I hope this is the good one.

I really like the shot (as a big surfing fan/bad surfer), but I don't see the 'failure' in this. Maybe if you could clarify a little bit in the title?

This could also be for planning the next successful ride

Not seeing failure in this one, but otherwise a good photo.

Neat photograph; I like how the passage is made by the dock. I am not sure how this meets the challenge, though. Is it because there is no competition?

Good image, but I'm sorry I don't equate this with failure at all.

Holding a board broken in half would have fit this challenge better. Great photograph though. Nice lines, perspective, vanishing point, DOF, and lighting. Well done.

There are nice lines in the shot, but I don't see failure.

This is a terrific photograph, but I don't feel the failure. The composition, lighting, exposure and leading lines are among the best in the challenge, but I think that it misses mark as far as the challenge goes. I am still giving it a high score based on image quality alone. Great work!

Thats an outstanding shot, especially the one point prespective under the dock.

I don't read titles in Photo Contests? What's the failure here?

Nice depth and use of thirds.

excellent composition - shame I had to read the title to make it fit the challenge...

Nice job - I love the lines and movement in this photo and your lighting is wonderful. In a perfect world I think the surfer dead center of the row of columns would have had more impact. Well done.

While this photo is certainly contemplative, I'm not 100% sure if it fits the theme of Failure. The composition is very nice though. :)
