I think a facial expression would have worked better with this shot, there is no failure registered from his stance or the way he is holding his helmet. For all we know he could be smiling or putting on his helmet. If this were shot from the other way around however, him being angry or something and holding the helmet like that, THAT would have conveyed a sense of failure or dissapointment. 5 from me.

Good idea. However, without your title he may just be taking off his helmet.

The cropping is just a little too tight, and I'd like to see his expression. It could be failure, but it's hard to tell without seeing the expression. Nice exposure and great depth of field use.
