Thanks to all for your helpful and kind comments. This was my first challenge, so to come 6th was very pleasing indeed - I'm sure I won't repeat that in a hurry :-)

This shot was pretty straightforward - a glass of G&T set up in my darkened kitchen with a single halogen light to the left/behind the glass and the camera on a tripod. The lemon is the essential ingredient, as it generates bubbles as well as adding colour.

The print is a crop of this to fit the aspect ratio - a vertical piece off each of the sides went which removed some of the annoying reflections you get from using a round glass - got to get some square ones :-)

Lovely. Great exposure control - dark enough to be moody, yet we can still see the landscape. Might benefit from a slight lift in brightness. Well done.
