It maybe a stretch...
When I think of Weather I think of Rain.
When I think of How Rain effects the Enviroment I think Erosion.
When I think Rain and Erosion I think Waterfalls.

So I headed out to Rolley Lake Falls. I have never seen the falls before and only heard of them recently. Dispite my best attempts (including hanging my camera over the edge of the revine on the end of my tripod) to get a good pic of the falls there where too many branches in the way. I got this one though, further down river. I hope I don't get hit hard because people don't think it's related to the Challenge.

Greetings fromt the Critique Club
Hi James, we meet at last, for the first time.

Composition
I like how no crucial elements have been left out of this shot. Too often someone crops the leaves of a flower or someone's fingertips off, but you have included both the entry point for our eyes and the exit point - great references.

Color
Well-saturated and even a tad over-saturated. I like the greens and reds, however. I see your 1/8 shutter and wonder what if you'd used a longer shutter and slightly more open aperature? Either way, great color.

Focus
Your focus and DoF are obviously quite good. The water gives off a slight haze, but the leaves around the edges are sharp.

Lighting
If you'd shot this same shot on a sunny day, the relation to "weather" would have been tenuous, as you were afraid of. With the obviously cloudy and wet day, this water could have come from the Vancouver skies.

Subject matter
You were worried about the link, but people seem to have made it. Your lack of low scores overall shows me at least that people didn't mark you down for your subject matter. I liked it, and it is pleasant to look at.

Overall
Overall, congrats on your first six.

Judging by the ferns, i venture to say this scene is from the Pac NW. I love the water and the detail of the rocks in the foreground. That black boulder on the right is lovely. The ferns and the area above the water makes the overall scene a little busy for my taste, the more so since there is so much detail, texture and color variations elsewhere. 7 Journey

This is a beautiful weather effects. The focus on the rocks seems alittle soft but IMHO adds much to the overall effects. Nice job.

Too cluttered. I'd concentrate on the right/top element with the water fall and leaves.5

This is truly a beautiful shot! I love the effect the longer exposure has introduced into the water; the wet rocks and color finish it off. At 10 in my book! Excellent job.

Not feeling "weather" from this.. Yeah I know the water is coming from rain and whatever, but this just says "waterfall" to me.. (Was it raining when you took it? that would make more sense -- cant really tell if it is raining though) Nice long exposure waterfall shot though. Needs levels adjustment in PS.

A nice shot, although it doesn't seem to depict weather all that well...

This is a wonderful photo. Don't know how you could improve it. Maybe a different border, but the photo itself is great.

Beautiful picture. Would have been so much better, however, if some adjustments to the contrast would have been made. Overall, it's too light and the colors are dulled.

Great image, everything fully in focus. The composition is excellent and the slightly longer shutter speed was a good decision, choice!

I love the silky look to the water. Composition is good, lighting is good. Quite breathtaking, dont see anything wrong it.
