hekobokehby LevTComment: Originally posted by skiprow: very interesting image. i think you are on the right track, and that this image has a lot of promise. with a subject that small, it really needs to knock the viewer's socks off when the image is this large; unfortunately, there are so many other elements in the image competing for attention that your single droplet starts to lose its strength. with such very strong bokeh all the way through, you could actually crop this image in half and have something that absolutely rocked. try it: hold your left hand up to cover the whole left half of the image and you'll see what i mean. anyways, this is good work. good luck! |
Thanks all for great comments! I agree completely with a number of comments here that the white and dark spots in the left part are quite bit distracting. However, regarding cropping the left part out of this shot, - I thought about it, but decided against it because I loved the gentle curve of that stem. After such a cropping, it would've been just a diagonal line which is kind of boring compositionally. Message edited by author 2005-01-17 03:02:55. |

Early Riserby BradComment: 17th place is way too low for this great shot. As I wrote below, it was (and still is) my favorite.
btw, just occured to me, I shot my "hekobokeh" on exavtly the same kind of daisy as your "early riser" (just cropped the head out of it). Probably has smthg to do with the fact that we both are in San Diego? Message edited by author 2005-01-17 00:44:10. |

A Clockwork Orangeby casualguyComment: I like your lighting and the overal simplicity of the shot.
Take it from your soulmate - one of the oranges is mine, which is not a big giveaway given the number of clockwork oranges (big bummer!) :) |

Blue Crushby SunnieeComment: A little too busy to my taste. The blue bucket (?) in the upper left corner is completely unnecessary |
