This deserves a recently comment bump after all this time. Gorgeous. Might inspire people to do bokeh that isn't just "circles." LOVE the rich green and pop of yellow.

Beautiful shot! I like the dark tones for this subject. You should have placed higher but we'll take any break we can get.

17th place is way too low for this great shot. As I wrote below, it was (and still is) my favorite.

btw, just occured to me, I shot my "hekobokeh" on exavtly the same kind of daisy as your "early riser" (just cropped the head out of it). Probably has smthg to do with the fact that we both are in San Diego?

Quite simple and elegant. Here's a great example of how the bokeh enhances the foreground as evidenced by the flowers in bloom within the background. Well done.

I like this but it's almost a little too dark...

Cool image, but I find it a tad too dark, even with your reference to it being early with your title. I'm not talking about much brighter, but just a tad more overall and a little more emphasis on top of that on the flower that is opening to give it more meaning.

I like this one. It is a little dark, but the title explains nicely. The focus and bokeh are great. I don't really like the heavy black border. I think I would have went with a narrower border in a lighter color since the picture is dark. I think it would have been a little better with a little more blurred yellow in the right background to even things out a little. Over all very nice shot. Good luck.

Your subject is a little too dark. I bet other people have said the same thing. Nice bokeh...nothing too distracting.....composed well.....just wish it were a tad brighter.

This is very nice. I'm not sure about the composition, but the subdued lighting is beautiful, and I do think the background enhances the subject.

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light."Definitely present. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? Certainly. Excellent shot in all regards.

Very nice, great DOF, a little dark though

I love the low key feel, colours and DOF. The bokeh has interest and compliments the subject beautifully. (10)

I love the mood of this, the down-key of it. I'd score it even higher if the bottom of the subject bud separated from the BG, which is one of the things I ask from bokeh.

very pretty. if i knew what bokeh was, which i dont, i would say this is nice bokeh. :) regardless, i still find it a very nice image--beautiful muted colors, great clarity and dof--and nice composition as well. nicely done.
