River Deepby nixterComment: VERY well seen and captured. A stunning photo! I really enjoy the perspective on this as you made a great choice to show as much water/reflection as you have. B/W suits this quite well also. Have I mentioned yet that I like this? :D Take care. |

Night Time reflectionby kerrilynComment: Ahhh, MAN! I was going thru some thumbnails for this challenge to do a little commenting. This JUMPED out at me from the thumbnail. I'm sure you've heard 30 times by now that this is too small, etc... Really a shame. :( I do hope you'll post it in a larger size after the challenge to share, perhaps in a forum thread or something? Take care. |

Moonraker- Sattelite Spiesby 3DsArcherComment: I hope you used a hidden spy cam for this shot! :D Looks very well guarded/protected. Nice photo for this challenge. I like how you've balanced the perspective challenges you faced here with the 'STOP' sign just slightly tilted right and the top of the gate fence tilting left. Straighten either one of those and the rest goes too far. Also, nice job of keeping the exposure of the white satellite dish in line. Good luck in the challenge. |

Moonrakerby Bear_MusicComment: Sorry, I'm not very familiar with James Bond movies/books (I've heard of 'Moonraker' - just haven't seen it). I can however, comment on the photo in general. :D I like the composition and the framing of the moon in the open space, yet the moon is kind of nested by the branches (which is cool). The exposure overall is good although I wonder how this would have come out if you let the trees fall into silhouette? Just a thought. I'm thinking that you focused on the moon (which is understandable), but because of that, and the aperture you used, the tree branches (with the cones primarily) don't come across as being well focused. A little sharpening could have helped, but not much, otherwise you would get some halos and zaggies around those thin branches. There also seems to be a white balance issue. It's slight, but noticeable IMO, as the photo in general is "cold" with a telltale bluish tint (most evident in the right tree bark). A slight shift and "warming" this would be interesting to see (the difference).
You know, I really enjoy pine trees and the cones myself. We have numerous white pines (big ones!) on our property and I can't help but enjoy the way the cones/trees look against a deep blue sky at times. I've even submitted a shot or two similar to this. For this challenge, I'm not sure how this is going to go over. I think many viewers/voters are looking for more glitz and glamour. Hopefully I'm way off course on that viewpoint for your sake! :P
All of the above is JMO of course. :D Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Oops! I should know what you look like by now. :D Still a funny looking mannequin IMO. He-he. Nice finish with another 6+.
Smile and keep having fun! |

"You are going to shoot WHAT?by rjksteschComment: This is cute. The photo is well exposed and the clarity/focus is good. A little overzealous with the noise reduction (plastic looking skin). Did you forget this was a basic challenge and couldn't reshoot without the strings holding the arrow in place? Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
