thats really neat! i would really like to know how u got the pencil to stand up like that. i love the reflection from the pencil but not from the scribbles..id like to know how u did that also...great photo!

Composition is good, this photograph is telling me that it is a letter to dear john, focusing on the pencil.
Background: the words on the left side are a bit washed out and not uniform with the rest. The left side of the pencil is also washed out a bit.
Technical: the focus is mainly on the pencil, where it should be, as the point of interest. The 2 rings are also clearly in focus and adds to the overall feel of the photograph.
Good use of B&W, maybe needs more contrast.
Overall, a vey well taken emotional photo.

this is very original! maybe the background could have been a different color because its kind of an eyesore for me, maybe a little saturation in the colors would brighten it.
