Lesney Toy Truckby LanSnakeComment: Good photo. (I'm being frank - NOT to offend) I like the subject very much; the angle is good. Perhaps a bit tighter crop. I do like how the horizon line is blended. Yet, there is something that is not working for me. I have been putting off the comment - but keep coming back to the thumbnail. The image is attractive - catches my eye - but I think maybe the lighting is off a bit - but not sure if it's good or not. So I'm torn on what to say...All in all a good photo - 7 Ruthann |

This Old Houseby jerryComment: Nice photo, but something is not quite working for me, but not sure what. I do like the angle and the distance with the dof. Still good work. 6 Ruthann |

This Machine...by PatellaComment: Very nice! Excuse my ignorance - I don't know what it is. Nice focus and color. I like that the dust/particles on the glass is visible. The cropping and angle are great too. 9 Ruthann |

The Originalby CreativeFlyPhotoComment: Well done! I like the use of DOF here. The angle and composition are very effective for this. I even like the graininess at the top. Good Work. 8 Ruthann |

Communicationby RedRuthannComment: Thank you everyone for your comments! I had a difficult time with this. I took many shots and ended up using number 5! Just to clearify, sepia was not used for this. I am still working on my skills and am very pleased to do this well. A little note: This was a great challenge subject for me - "Something Old". My grandmother was an antique dealer - lending our family to be somewhat 'packrats'. When the subject was listed on DPC, I new there was one person that would not let me down - mother! She started taking out so many things - including 2 German helmuts from WWI & II. The telegraph caught my eye the most and ran with it. Thanks again for all of your comments and congratulations to this week's winners!! |

H.M.S. Victoryby pnichollsComment: Interesting. (I'm being frank - NOT to offend) The black background is well executed. I don't think that the blue towel (material) does much - maybe to connect with the blue in the sails? Lighting is ok and the the focus is good. 7 Ruthann |

Never Againby Ricky CleaveComment: Excellent! - Perfect line composition. I like the simple title - brief and to the point. I feel as if I'm right there looking at the gate. Great job! 9 Ruthann |

This Old Houseby bdshortComment: One of the few house shots that I liked. I very much like the coloring and lighting. The cropping is great. The green weeds really bring out the weatheredness of the structure. Great work - 9 Ruthann |

I'm sure we'll play again one day.by ninaullerComment: Tells a story. I like this very much. I gave 4 10s and this is one of them. The composition and cropping is great as well at the focus and lighting. You have brought the bear to life. It makes feel sad - which is great, I love photos that portray emotion. Excellent work - give yourself a pat on the back!!! Ruthann |
