Go Fly a Kiteby PixelstateComment: Originally posted by glad2badad: Fun! :-) I get the pano crop, but also wonder if some of that width had been reduced, would you have been able to get more detail on the people then (they would have filled the frame more and still kept the kite, etc.). |
Yes, I considered that. I had actually already cropped in tighter than my original composition which featured the grandstand in the distance. I wanted to show the wide open space.. but on reflection at 1200 pixels this reduces impact and subject focus

So, you have the new Fujifilm X Half, eh? That looks like fun. I was looking at that the other day. Should be a fun camera to carry!
I've added it to our equipment database (Fujifilm X Half).
I like one of the side-by-side examples shown on the Fujifilm website. That could open some creative doors. One note though in case you use the side-by-side (2 in 1) feature ... that takes 2 shutter clicks to create so wouldn't be legit for the Standard ruleset.
I'm a little jealous. Have fun! :-) |
Thanks for adding the camera. I took this photo with a GFX100RF (which also was not listed on the equipment list FYI ) :) |

Love the concept, just would have been stronger (IMO) with the DOF included down thru the camera and displayed photos. Maybe the use of focus stacking would help here, especially in a static setting such as this? Good luck. |
Thanks for the comment. I was kicking myself a little when you posted this during voting. I agree with you. I took a fair few different versions of the 'scene' and this plain white was a last minute shot as I went to put everything away. In the end it felt clean enough to use but 100% I should have re-shot with better lighting (This was window light) and front to back focus (also improve the background (This was placed on top of the cats litterbox so sub-optimal for a product shoot :) ) |

AT-LP60Xby LevTComment: Well executed. If I can be picky, Id suggest making sure there is no sign of dust or dirt on the product. |
