 The idea came to me to imitate Van Gogh's bold brushstrokes by seeds. It was actually not that hard. I printed out his famous self portrait

and covered it with various seeds I found in our pantry: pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, buckwheat, flux and rice.

In spite of my best intentions and efforts, my "seedy man" came out not quite looking like the original... oh well, I still like him :)

Oh Lev, you could have title this differently. Un paysan, the seedy man, l’agriculteur but….van g!
The sold at the Met a similar portrait with the left velcroed ear
