Cute subject, but I think that being chopped at the knees and at the heads creates unecessary tension. Also might try a wide open aperture to blur the distractive background. Here's my thought FWIW :-) It might have worked better to get higher, back furthar, more behind the man, and inline with the baby at an angle looking downward and using a telephoto to compress the distance between the man and the baby.

A nice shot, but would be much better if the wrinkles in the backdrop were removed, maybe do some heavy softening in photoshop. There are also some bad blowouts in the rear, especially toward the right side.
