Not exactly my original concept for the shell game, but since I couldn't keep the plexiglass clean enough for an up from under shot... This was a bit of a pain to shoot because I was using sunlight through a window and I had to keep rearranging everything as it moved.

Great use of light, though I think the top shell shouldn't be cut off halfway, if the other two aren't.

This is soooo staged. Just kidding. I really like it. I read about this one in the forums. Nice use of lighting.

Nice lighting and I applausd you for leaving this in color even thought the lighting is screaming at you to go with Black and White the elements scream COLOR.

Clean and simple....good shot.

Now *that's* ligting control. Nicely done. Compositionally, it might be more interesting with the ball less centered - maybe closer to one of the nutshells flipped over? Some oversharpening shows in the edges of the shadows and tops of the nutshells.

Not that it matters but, are those real walnut shells? Nice idea and I like the lighting on such a shady game. Good composition

Nice photo game subject. The completely black shadows are a bit extreeme but you did manage to capture a certain effect by using them.

Nice lieghting. I'm sure it's a game, but I suppose this is more on the picture, so it gets a high vote :)

Good concept, but is the "shell game" really a game? (no points subtracted) Photo 9 Creativity 7 Games 8 total 8

The lighting effect here is interesting but i think this particular effect and composition of this photo may offer more visual impact if the photo was taken in the horizontal orientation instead of vertical. There is too much empty space in the bottom of the frame to suit my own tastes.

Lighting, lights, camera, walnut shells. In the daylight, maybe?

I love your use of lighting to draw attention to the subject. Very nice.

Hmm...if the outcome is known, does it qualify as a game? I like your lighting scheme.

Cool lighting, how'd you do it?

I like the light and shadows in this photograph. Very simple. Easy to look at.

Simple, but good idea. IMO, the contract between light and shade is too severe.

Love the light and the concept, now if you can show action it would be way cool!

Really, really REALLY like the lighting in this. It's amazing how much it did for the photo. It's very well composed. Excellent!
