Chasin' the Shadowsby timj351Comment: Three shadows and two subjects. I'm sorry, but this just doesn't work for me largely because of the photographer's shadow in the photo. |

5 O'clock Shadowby haydenComment: Okay, good tie-in with the challenge. Now, the problem is with the photo. Harsh lighting and busy background. Since the shadow is the stuff on his face, you might want to get rid of the shadow covering the eyes, or, maybe do a very close up framed as a portrait of just the chin and up almost to the eyes. |

We Three Treesby elemessComment: ¿Tres hermanos? This is dark enough that it seems to loose something. You might try shooting in raw mode if your camera supports that, or at the highest quality mode, and then adjust the gamma and/or using a histogram, adjust the levels to bring out more detail. |

Colorful Shadowby evmariedogsComment: This looks like a starting point. From here you could play some more with the lighting to get rid of the glaringly bright right side (or just crop it off), find something more pleasant to look at like a glass vase from a 2nd hand store or whatever, and put something more attractive under the subject. |
